Daniel Appleby Obituary
He was born September 10, 1985 at Akron City Hospital to Ralph Bedell Appleby III and Denise (Hesse) Appleby. After graduation from Stow Monroe Falls High School he joined the Navy and served as a Sonar technician. He then went on to receive his associates degree at Stark State College in Automotive Technology. Dan was ASE certified and loved to "wrench". He helped so many friends and family by fixing their car problems for little or no charge. That made him very happy. He had the gift of helps. Using for so many while entertaining us with his crazy sense of humor. Danny was employed at Components & Equipment Int'l Inc. He loved his boss, Ted, he loved Cheri and his crew. His mood revolved around the mood of the shop.
Dan is survived by parents, Ralph & Denise (Hesse) Appleby of Kent; brothers, Sam (Sarah) Appleby of Akron, and Alex Appleby of Ravenna. In addition he is survived by many family and friends including his beloved, Lindsey Anne Steenburg.
Memorial calling hours will be held from 5 to 8 Thurs, July 18, 2013 at the Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel. The Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 19, 2013 at the funeral home with Pastor Wally Kukuk officiating. Burial will follow the service at Standing Rock Cemetery. In lieu of donations, GO HOME AND HUG YOUR MOTHER AND TELL DAD YOU LOVE HIM. Condolences and memories may be shared at http://www.sscfuneralhomes.com/.

I am truly saddened to hear of Daniel's passing. I worked with him at Applebee's. He had a heart of gold and could always make you laugh! Find comfort in your memories and know he is always watching over you.

Working with Danny at Applebee's was the best time a lot of us had ever had together. The servers, cooks, managers, bartenders... Everyone was like a family since we opened the Hudson Dr. Store altogether. I can't think of one image in my mind without Dale, Doug and Danny - Cracking jokes, rapping and hearin beats...and just laughs and smiles--- somehow we got work done there too. But it was really a big family and no matter how far you get Away from one another... It's still family. I miss you Danny boy and I'm So sorry your life ended here shortly, but you will have a wonderful life up in the heavens, you are a beautiful person and friend. Rest in Peace.

You have my deepest sympathy, I knew Dan from high school, we weren't close friends or anything but he was always a good guy. I ran into him at the store a few years back and we must have talked for over an hour about nothing particular. That's the kind of guy he was and will be known for, he was cool with everyone, always willing to help in any way, and he could always make you laugh. He was a really great person, my deepest condolences, I am so sorry for your loss.

i used to skateboard with dan.. he was a year older than me.. and i would always see the older kids skating together and always wanted to skate with them.. Dan introduced himself to me and asked me to come skate with them.. i still credit Dan with giving me the confidence to not be afraid to jump off a set of stairs on a skateboard.He was a good guy and hew will be missed.

My heart just broke when I saw that. I have so many memories of our boys playing together, coming to the bay in the cabintent, camping out in the backyards. Dan had such a great sense of humor, he made me smile. My thoughts and prayers our with you all.

The proof of this quote is given in the broad smile and enthusiastic personality of Dan, but most of all it is evidenced by the many loving family members and friends who will miss him greatly. He will be missed by everyone who knew him but never forgotten, because he has imprinted himself permanently on our hearts. To his family; may the love and kindness that you have taught your children come back to you in this time of need. None of us have much time here on Earth but we all have the power to leave something behind, a legacy. God has a purpose for all of us.
