November 1, 1926 - September 26, 2012
Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. Predeceased by his wife Norma, daughter Jane Lewis, son Peter, and brother John. Survived by his loving companion Rosemary Harnish. Beloved father of Catherine Emerson and husband Don, Susan Thompson, Nancy Breckenbridge, Daniel D. Carreau, Ann Randall and husband Andy. Father-in-law of Mo Lewis and Bonnie Carreau. Dear grandfather to grandchildren Rebecca, Donald; Kenneth, Donna Marie; Rachael, Bradley, Kristy; Tara, Danielle; Kayla, Erin, Theo; Meghan, Cassandra, Christina and great-grandchildren Kylie, Luke, and Jacob. Brother of Brian (the late Claire) and Jerry (Judy) Carreau of Nova Scotia. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mr. Carreau was a proud RCMP Officer who served from 1945 - 1970 and retired as a Staff Sergeant. He was also a life time member of the K of C Council #1459. Visitation will be held at

on Friday from 2 - 5 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. Veteran's service under the auspices of W.V.M.S.C. at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, September 29, 2012 from 12 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service in the chapel at 1 p.m. Interment at Victoria Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations may be made to Parkinson's Society or Alzheimer Society. Share memories and online condolences

My condolences to the family. I had the pleasure of meeting Dan just after he retired from the RCMP when he was the manager of ABC Ambulance. I was working there at the time and he was influential in convincing me to join the RCMP. He was a great guy and will be missed!
