Daniel Jesus Contreras

Daniel Jesus Contreras (43) passed away peacefully on August 12, 2025. Known for his warmth, humor, and generosity, Daniel had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel like a close friend. His love for music, cooking, and connection defined his life and relationships.

To his mother, Maria Elena, Daniel was a miracle, a beloved cooking partner. Their bond was deep, rooted in shared meals and unconditional love for their shared dog Gigi. Daniel's father, Jose, passed on his passion for music, which Daniel embraced fully. This led to Daniel becoming an accomplished musician who performed with bands such as Papa Roach and Alien Ant Farm, in addition to playing legendary venues like the Roxy on the Sunset Strip.

To his older brothers, Jose and Raul, Daniel was more than a sibling-he was a best friend and a source of endless laughter. Especially, their family trips to Mexico and their cruise to the Bahamas, which strengthened their bonds as brothers while creating fond memories. His nieces and nephews will forever remember him as the fun, encouraging uncle. They will always cherish the walks Daniel took them on to 7-11 when they were children, and the time they watched Superbad in theatres (with Grandma).

His impact extended to the music scenes in San Jose and Portland, where he was a beloved figure. Daniel's talent and charisma created lifelong friendships and inspired countless fellow musicians, who affectionately referred to him as Booboosan.

His unwavering kindness and loving spirit made him unforgettable to all who knew him. Daniel's spirit lives on in the hearts he touched.
