Daniel T. Cowell

Daniel T. Cowell, 47, of Newport, RI, died on Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Newport Hospital surrounded by his family. Born in Wakefield, RI on August 8, 1963, he was the son of W.S. Cowell, Jr. and Marion (Stalbird) Cowell. Daniel lived in Newport for most of his life and worked as a chef at Anthony's Seafood for the past 12 years. He previously worked at Yesterday's Restaurant and Nikolas Pizza. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Danielle Michaels of Newport, RI; his grandchildren, Alannah Durand and Renee Durand of Riverside, RI; his brothers, John Stalbird of New Ipswich, NH, W. Scott Cowell III of Pawtucket, RI, Warren D. Cowell of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Timothy M. Cowell of Portsmouth, RI; his sister, Catherine Cowell Shorey of Newport, RI; and several nieces and nephews. He was the grandson of the late Catherine M. Cowell and brother of the late Michael J. Cowell. A memorial service will be held at a date to be announced.
