I worked for a off highway trucking co. and dan always ad a different story to tell when he would come in to get parts for his logging truck or equipment. well this one day he had a 888 cummins motor in this yarder and needless to say it was to be replaced so he came in to ask about the price to rebuild it or how much the parts were going to cost him to rebuild this engine. Well I told him and dan being dan said that he would find another engine and install it , well he did and I didn't see him for about two or three weeks when I did I asked him how it went and he said this motor he had bought did not have enough torque to pull the logs in. So he asked again how much, I replied with another price which at that time I could give him a better price as I had given him a better discount, he said it was still too much and would look for another engine. Well two or three weeks went by and he showed up again with a big grin on his face and said to me that he had found another engine that was the same as the tired one that he had just replaced. And it was new and still in the crate he left and the next time I saw him was about two weeks later when he came in to hire one of our mechanics as he could not get this new motor running. Well they both showed up later on in the day and I asked did you get it going, well the mechanic answered there's something else wrong with the motor hell have to take it out of the machine and they will try to fix the problem. Well to make a long story shorter danny being dan had bought from this sales person a engine that used to be from the school board that was a display engine or a cutaway engine that that had 1/2 its liners cut in half or a piston missing. Well that's how I remember dan ellis a nice guy always had a story to tell or a joke to tell. Sorry this took so long we haven't seen one another for quite some time and I just heard about his passing and I want to express my deepest sympathy. We'll miss you Dan

Danny and I are first cousins. My mom (Addie) and Danny's mom (Susie) are sisters. I fondly remember, when we were kids, the great fun times we had together at Aunt Susie and Uncle Luther's place. I remember Danny as a 'free spirit', always ready to go with fun and laughter in every moment. I haven't seen Danny since then, those many years ago, but I will always remember that 'free spirited' kid, my cousin. Our thoughts and prayers are with each and every one of you. May God bless you all.

Dear Karen, Danny, Kathy, John, and Stephen
I want to pass along my heartfelt sympathy. Your father was my first cousin (his Mother and my Mom were sisters). Danny was a humble, generous, down-to-earth man. I think he inherited those traits from your Great Grandfather - I like to call it the Art Adam's Gene. Please know that your extended family cares very deeply for your loss.
I imagine there's a jam session going on in heaven. Fiddles and guitars are being tuned, and my Dad (Uncle Bill) has a microphone in hand. What a good old fashion P.E.I. house party they will have.
Hugs to you and your families from the East Coast. Love and God Bless,
Cousin Janie (Alexander) MacMillan and husband Bob

I am Melvin Danny's older brother and remember well all the times we had together on PEI and Fredericton, NB along with all the visits from BC to Oromocto, NB. We never forgot the assistance he gave my wife Ida when I left for Germany on short notice and seeing that she got home to PEI as her dad was ill and passed away in 1962. There are many things I could write about after our return to Canada in 1965, but what I will miss most is the phone calls where we talked for long periods about all the events that happened since our last call. We talked last a little over a week ago and little did we know that it was to be our last chat together. Aunt Ida & I are thinking about you Karen, Danny, Kathy, John, Stephen and your families My God Bless and Comfort you through these trying times. To my brother Daniel, may he rest in peace.

I am one of Danny's first cousins (my mom was Danny's Mother's sister). I have many fond memories playing together as kids when my Mom & Dad would visit Danny's Mom & Dad in Ellerslie, PEI. I still have good memories of Danny coming to Oshawa to visit my mom (his aunt) in his big motor home as he was heading back to BC. My wife & I send our sympathies out to Karen, Danny Jr, Kathy, John, and Stephen. May God wrap his arms around each of you to ease the pain of losing your father.

I am the younger sister of Danny and unfortunately never got to know him well as I was very young when he moved out on his own. The fondest memory is him driving across Canada with his wife, 5 small children, dog and cat for my wedding to Prince Edward Island. Lots of love there for family to do that. May you find a Blue Grass Music Band to play with in Heaven. My husband, David, myself, and our girls, Susan and Erin send sympathies out to Karen, Danny Jr, Kathy, John, and Stephen. May God wrap his arms around each of you to ease the pain of losing your Dad.

Danny was a free spirit with a kind heart. We are shocked and saddened to learn of his death and express our sympathy to the family. Danny loved his music and it was a blessing to him. I am so happy he had music in his life, the friendships and experiences it brought to him. We planned to visit Danny in June but it was not to be. We love you Danny, rest in peace.
