DANIEL P.
Age 85, Penn Hills, PA, passed away June 21, 2016, with his loving family by his side. Born July 8, 1930, in Ebensburg. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Sarah L. (Dietrick); infant son, Richard. Dan and Sally married in 1952 and moved to Penn Hills, PA where they devoted their lives to their nine children, Diana (Sonny) Tresco, Catherine (Bill) Connelly, Rosemary (Jerry) Darr, and Daniel (late Denise), Chet (Chris), Patrick (Margie), Tom (Pam), Paul (Ruth) and Bert (Laura) Farabaugh. He was a loving grandfather to 22 grandchildren, Jenny (Eric) Collier, Cathy, Vince (Rachael), Sara Tresco, Sharon (Nik) Menotiades, Bill Connelly, Marlena, Kevin Darr, Danny, Nicole (Corey) Toocheck, Adam (Jeanine), Amie, Chuck, Patrick (Kelsey), Allie, Bryan, Liliana, Mitchell, Sami, Marissa, Lexie Farabaugh and Bill Armstrong. Dan was blessed with ten great- grandchildren, Damian, Massimo, Jude, Trinity, Will, Audrey, Jackson, Angelina, Maria, and Christian. Dan is also survived by his sister, Rosemarie (Regis) Vey; brothers, Earl (Cathie), Ron (Mary) and preceded in death by his brothers, Charles and Al (Martha). As Director of Public Works for Penn Hills, Dan made numerous contributions to his community including Lake Richard at Penn Hills Park, soccer fields at Friendship Park and the first K-9 Training Facility for the police. Dan and Sarah donated their time and talent to providing presents to children at Holy Family Institute at Christmas for many years. Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at FINDLAY C. WYLIE FUNERAL HOME INC., 11311 Frankstown Road, Penn Hills. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Church, 444 St. John Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15239 with interment service at 2:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Cemetery, Patton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund, 501 Martindale St., #670, Pittsburgh, PA 15212.
