Daniel W. Firebaugh, 52, passed away at his home in Centralia, surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Dan was born in Ely, NV. In 1963 he and his family moved to the Centralia area. He learned to hunt and fish in the Galvin neighborhood and graduated from Centralia High School in 1975. He participated in track, football and wrestling, bringing home numerous trophies. After graduation he pursued a career as a journeyman carpenter working out of the Carpenters Union Local 2127. Dan was a 25-year Eagles member and also held a membership with the Moose lodge. He enjoyed country dancing, motorcycling and being with his family. The diagnosis of cancer changed his life. He fought with a positive attitude and was an inspiration to those around him.
Dan will be missed by his wife Bonnie, daughter Brandy and grandchildren Emily and Rilee Firebaugh. He is also survived by mother Florence Kinney, father Ed and step mother Bardee Firebaugh, brothers Steve, Ken and sister Linda Groh, step siblings Karla, Kyle and Kaylene.
A celebration of life will be held in his honor on the first of July 2009 at 3:00 PM at Newell Hoerlings Mortuary chapel, reception following at Borst Park Kitchen #1.

It was such a pleasure and honor to assist in Dan's care. He was such a kind man, who was truly an inspiration to those who surrounded him. He had such a strong spirit. I will hold Dan and his Family in my heart always.

I first crossed paths with Dan in junior high school. We got to know each other playing football and running track together. His name was fitting as I viewed him as a "Fireball" in sports.

Our senior year we had photography together and were on a team of students who made a monster movie titled "Orzo". Dan played the mad scientist and I was his creation.

After graduation from High School I ran into Dan from time to time and it was always a pleasure to see him. I am saddened by his untimely passing.

My condolences to the family.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family in this time of grief. I graduated with Dan and remember his kind heart and words to everyone he met. He will surely be missed. Have peace knowing that he is no longer suffering and awaiting the time when you will all join him again. God bless each and every one of you.
