Daniel Force Obituary
Born in San Diego, he passed away at home in Hermosa Beach at age 65. Dan lived bravely with cancer for 12 years, with the emphasis on living. Cancer claimed his body but not his spirit.
He leaves behind Barbara, his wife of 34 years; sister, Carole F. Stabler (Cliff); sister, Janice L. Weber; nephew, Daniel James Weber (Ixie); niece, Michelle M. Scott (Carl); 3 godchildren; and a large extended family and many friends.
Dan grew up in the La Canada foothills and graduated from John Muir High School in 1959. He served 3 years in the 101st Airborne Division of the US Army. He worked various jobs, including TWA for 12 years, until the call of being his own boss brought him into contracting, property management, real estate, old cars, tools and motorcycles.
During recovery after his first diagnosis, he started taking comedy Improv, stand-up and acting workshops, appeared in an original musical drama, and a film - things he never would have done without cancer in his life. He loved a good discussion, even when others didn't, seeking truth and the meaning of life. His humor was legendary, and his quick wit and one-liners would constantly catch us off guard. As he said, he didn't have a "trophy wall", yet all of his friends from different walks of life are a testament to his big heart and giving spirit.
Services will be held on Sunday, May 4th at 4:00pm at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church (301 Avenue D, Redondo Beach). In lieu of flowers, a donation in Dan's name may be made to: The Wellness Community, 109 W. Terribly sorry to hear of your loss. Was a privilege to work with you both last year. Please know that you are in my family's hearts and especially in our prayers at such a difficult time as this.

having gotten to know dan and his family fairly well was important for really knowing dan. he is a great guy
and a great friend. he has a brillant mind but most of all an almost divine
common sense of right and wrong. we had many heavy discussions about many subjects and i even con-
sulted with him on cases---he is a very special spirit and i will always
love him. i cant believe i never got
him into a mormon church service[i
never asked]. barb, we are all in the
fourth quarter now. dan is setting things up for us and it will be so great to have him great us. this life
is just a short test and there is no doubt that dan passed with flying
colors----he is clearly one of the
special and chosen few: daniel cloyd
force!

Barbara I,m very sorry to have read about Husband Dan. When I saw that name it made think about the time that you two made breakfast for the Air Freight crew. God bless .Rudy

Our thoughts are with you, Barb, and we wish we were physically close enough for a big family hug. Any memory of Dan includes a smile, a giggle or a guffaw. Some folks are special, some moreso. Dan epitomized 'moreso'. We feel privileged to have been invited to his improvs, which were truly wonderful. We are better people for having known him.
