Lee, Daniel and Emily, I just wanted to express my sincere condolences to you all during this time of such great loss. Being part of the 'baseball family' of Charlotte, I learned of your husband's death through mutual friends. My husband died about a year ago at a very young age also leaving behind 2 exceptional children. The loss is devastating but memories of Dan and all he gave to each of you will help to carry and mold you through the rest of your lives. Take time to grieve, remininsce and remember all that he was for each of you...Daniel, each time you step up to bat, know your daddy is right there with you. My son is a junior at East Meck this year and feels his dad all the time on the field. You are all in our thoughts and prayers...keep God close and He will ease your souls during this time. God speed.

Lee:
Jennifer and I were greatly saddened to hear of Dan's passing. We only learned of it reading the extraordinary article in today's paper about Daniel. You and Dan obviously raised an outstanding son. Dan's legacy will live on in each of you. You and your entire family are in our prayers.
With our deepest sympathy,
Steve, Jennifer and Amelia Knott
