Services: Friday, June 1st at 4:00 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville
Visitation: Friday, June 1st from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Daniel Dan H. Franke, age 62, of Waupun, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2012 at his home.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, June 1st at 4:00 p.m. at the Koepsell Funeral Home in Mayville with the Rev. Richard Beck officiating. A visitation will take place on Friday, June 1st from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Military rites will be conducted after the service by the Mayville American Legion Post #69.
Dan was born on October 13, 1949 to Harold E. Franke and Marion Dewitz in Fond du Lac. He was a Mayville High School graduate. He was employed at Alsum Produce, where he was an over the road truck driver. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps who served two tours of duty in Vietnam. Dan was an avid fan of NASCAR. Animals were always an important part of him and he adopted and rescued many dogs and cats that were near and dear to his heart. Dan loved the time he was able to spend with family and friends; he was fondly remembered for always lending a helping hand.
Dan is survived by: his father; Harold. His brothers; Ken Franke of Horicon, Tom Franke of Horicon, John Franke of Horicon, and Jim (Patty) Franke of Horicon. His sisters; Bonnie Mengel of Horicon and Tammy (Steve) Blexrude of Horicon. The mother of his daughter; Cheryl Moldenhauer and her daughter; Desirae. His Cats; Schnooki and Voodoo. His Dogs; Angel and Barney. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marion in 2008, his daughter; Amber in 2000 and his sister Diane; also preceded by his loving dog, Lupy.
Following the services on Friday for Dan, the family would like to invite friends down to Budahn's for a celebration of his life. Budahn's is located at 121 S. Main St. in Mayville.
