Daniel Greer Obituary
The blazing light that was Daniel Greer was extinguished by injuries he sustained in a tragic accident in San Marcos, Texas, on Saturday, 13 February 2016. He was a recent graduate of Texas State University with a degree in Finance, and had been accepted for graduate school in a two year program in Business, pursuing a Master’s degree in accounting. Daniel’s enthusiasm for life, friends and family will be forever remembered by the wide circle of those whose life he touched. His generous heart and ever-present smile will be so greatly missed.
Pre-deceased by his grandmother, LaVerne “Meme” Greer, Daniel leaves an extensive family and many friends to celebrate his memory. His parents, Tom & Susan Greer and Shawn & Tim Bargsley; grandparents, Jim Greer and Ken & Terri O’Neill and Judie Miller; great-grandfather Henry G. O’Neill of Pensacola, FL & great-grandmother Marie T. Hoff of Quinlan, TX; siblings Austin, Alex, Stephen and Sam Greer, Samuel and Sara Hodges, Miranda Bargsley; aunts Shari (& husband Randy) Skinner, Kimberly (& husband Rick) Goad, and Karen Oldfield; uncle Greg Bargsley; cousins Crystal, Melanie, Shannon and Jack, Ian, Alex, Sydney & Addison; and especially his beloved Danielle Norwood.
Daniel packed a great deal of living and adventure into his short 23 years. He was an avid skydiver, scuba diver, downhill skier & snowboarder, music lover, and gardener, as well as a caring owner for his Australian Shepherds, Blue & Luna, his collection of reptiles & his flock of chickens. His was a life well-lived, with exuberance and joy. His light will continue to blaze on in our hearts and memories.

My sincerest condolences go to Daniel's entire family. I did not know him but have been dear friends with his grandparents, Ken and Terri O'Neill, for almost 50 years and knew his mother as a toddler in Pensacola, Florida. Words fail to fully express my sorrow at your loss. I know, only too well, the deep anguish that Shaun and Tom are feeling, as I lost a son myself 10 years ago. Daniel will live on in your hearts, and take comfort in the faith that you will see him again. God bless you all.

Daniel was family to us. He was everything we hoped our daughter would find in a young man that she loved. He loved her, respected her, and would do anything for her. He would always make her dashboard warning lights "magically disappear" to make sure she was safe. He was one of the most giving, loving, and forgiving person I have met. He never met a stranger and treated everyone with respect, passing no judgments. Heaven's gain is our loss. He will be missed.

I hate that I lost touch with Daniel and the Greer family throughout the years after school. Daniel lived a short, but full and passionate life. Most people go an entire lifetime and not experience and appreciate life the way he did. For that, I am so grateful in spite the sadness I feel. He may not have been blood, but he was like family to me and will be greatly missed and always loved.

I know neither your family nor son, but saw this obituary through a HS friend on FB. We lost our 16 yr old son about 4 wks ago. We are still heartbroken beyond words. Grief is paralyzing so please take the help of your friends and family, even when you don't think you need it. To all your close friends and family, keep reaching out, even with little or no response. The worst thing you can do is think the family will come to you when they need it. Knowing you are there can provide at least some comfort to the family. May you find peace and strength through this difficult journey. I'm so sorry for your loss

I am so saddened by the loss of Daniel. We were blessed to get to know him as our office aid in the counseling office at Birdville High School.
