MacLeod, Daniel Edward Daniel Edward MacLeod died Friday, March 30, 2007, at his home in Crossville, Tenn. He was born Nov. 9, 1940, in Schenectady, N.Y., to Delmer B. and Olive J. MacLeod. He married Gwendolyn Hyman on Aug. 30, 1959. After completing military reserve service and a college education at Hudson Valley Technical Institute, he enjoyed a successful career in the electric utility industry, traveling to and working in many parts of the country, and retiring from Cajun Electric of Baton Rouge in 2000. He was an avid outdoorsman, talented artist, and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; and a nephew, Tim. Survivors include his wife; sons, Christopher MacLeod of Midland, Texas, and Michael MacLeod of Ouray, Colo.; daughter, Melissa MacLeod Miller of Bennington, Vt.; brothers, Ronald MacLeod of Schenectady and Dale MacLeod of Florida; seven grandchildren, Kate, Emma, Aaron, Graeme, James, Pearce and Dan; and two nephews and two nieces. Mr. and Mrs. MacLeod ask that donations in lieu of flowers be made to the purpose of patient comforts for the treatment rooms of the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, Attn. Gift Processing, V.U. Station 357727, Nashville, TN 37235-7727. Arrangements by Bilbrey Funeral Home of Crossville, (931) 484-6119.

My sincere sympathies to the family of Dan MacLeod. I met Dan in the 70s and enjoyed working with him. A professional, warm and fun to be with. He hosted the Association of Rural Electric Cooperatives, which I have coordinated for 30 plus years. He made changes to the organization, putting it on a strong, financial footing that is still being followed. He will be missed

I just heard about Dan's passing today, and wanted to express my deepest sorrow to you and your family. As you know Dan was very important to me during my career at Tri-State. He gave me opportunities that I may never have had without his guidience and trust in me. He was a mentor and friend. My wife and I pray for you and your family during this most difficult time. Please accept this expression of sympathy from Jim and me. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Jim was associated with Dan at Cajun Electric and always enjoyed their time together. After retirement, we looked forward to the Christmas cards and news of where you were traveling. Again, thinking of you at this time.

I worked with Dan for many years when he was with cooperatives and I was working at the Rural Electrification Administration. Dan was an excellent administrator, and helped put one of the cooperative organizations (the Association of Rural Electric Generating Cooperatives)onto a solid financial situation that exists to this day. I have not kept in touch with Dan, but enjoyed our association.
