Daniel George McConnell, Jr. 1958-2010 PITTSFIELD Daniel George McConnell, Jr., 52, of 95 Lakeway Drive, Pittsfield, died Monday, August 30, at Cambridge Hospital in Cambridge, Massachusetts, due to brain trauma resulting from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. Born in Pittsfield, August 22, 1958, a son of C. Anne LeBlanc McConnell of Pittsfield and the late Daniel G. McConnell, he attended Pittsfield schools, Berkshire Community College, and the Butura Art School in Boston. Mr. McConnell had been employed as a sign painter. He had also worked for Berkshire Antiques in Great Barrington and for Zenner's Variety in Pittsfield. He was a history buff who also enjoyed drawing cartoons, as well as skate boarding and video golf. He loved his children. Mr. McConnell is survived by his wife, the former Laura Marchisio. Besides his mother and his wife, he also leaves a son, Daniel G. McConnell, III, of Pittsfield, a daughter, Natalie R. McConnell of Pittsfield; a brother, Shawn G. McConnell of Brandon, Florida; a niece, Sabreena McConnell, as well as many first and second cousins; his aunt, Marilyn Hart and her husband, James; his uncle, Robert LeBlanc and his wife, Carrie, and his special friend, Dan Kelly. FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral services for Daniel George McConnell, Jr. will be held Tuesday, September 7, at 9:15 a.m., from DERY FUNERAL HOME with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., at St. Charles Church celebrated by Rev. Peter A. Gregory, Pastor. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Calling hours will be Monday (Labor Day) from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mr.McConnell may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in care of the Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield.
