Dan was one of the first members I played golf with at Cypress Woods. He welcomed me to the group with open arms. One of the nicest men I have ever met. I will miss him and think of him every time I tee it up at Cypress Woods.

Dan was a great neighbor and friend. He loved golf and would gladly help you improve your game. We will miss the dinners and the many fun times we had together. Dan will always have a place in our heart. We extend our sympathies to Elizabeth, Kenneth, and Charlene.

Dan Ogrodnik was an amazing golfer, probably the best in our entire Cypress Woods Golf and Country Club community, and was a great golfing partner with husband Dick and me. He always complimented me on my swing, and always encouraged me to step up my game. When I purchased new Cobra clubs several years ago, and Dan and Dick accompanied me to The Golf Guys store to buy them, Dan gifted me an additional 7-wood for my birthday (not in the originally bundled golf club package). I will forever cherish this club, his gift, and the sentiment behind it. With Dan, we couldn't have possibly anticipated his end of life so soon. We know his children Kenny and Elizabeth, and his lady friend Charlene Bourque, intimately and have spent many holidays and festive times and many golf outings together with all of them. They are as much family to us as our own family. Although the discovery and shock of Dan's death still does and will linger on for extended time, we hope and probably know that Dan didn't suffer. He simply went to sleep doing what he loved to do best next to playing golf ~ watching sports on TV. We pray for his soul and wish him blessed sleep in heavenly peace. ~ Dick and Susie Frank Hilton

Danny was a very special force in our good friend Charlene's life for the past eight years and it has been through her that we have known him. He was genuine, very likable and just so nice. His presence could fill a room. He was a tall, tanned and strikingly good looking man who possessed a quiet, friendly and easy going temperament. He had a steady personality with an easy smile. It didn't take long to realize that he was so happy with Charlene as she was with him. He enjoyed life's simple pleasures. He lovedhis family , a good steak, a baseball game to watch, a round of golf and always the companionship of Charlene. Those are the wonderful traits that we saw in Dan.
It was always a pleasure to spend time with Danny and Charlene when he visited her on Cape Cod and also when we occasionally got down to Naples.
John and I are saddened by his passing and will miss him.Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do other than to smile when we remember that big likable gentle man.

Dan was a good friend and golfing buddy. He was always there to encourage and help his family and friends. I played golf with Dan just a few days before his passing and he looked good and was looking forward to getting back to playing with his golfing buddies Monday and Friday. What a wonderful smile of encouragement he always had for me and my less than stellar game. He knew my 7 Iron was the only club I hit with any consistency and he kidded around with me by hiding it from me. Always a friend he drove Joan and me to the airport just a few days before his passing. We will always remember Dan as a kind , gentle and giving friend and a true gentleman. We will miss him.

As a golfing friend at Cypress Woods, I am deeply saddened and grieve with you, his family, and with his many, many friends. Dan encouraged all of us not only to be better golfers but to be better people. His friendly ways and willingness to help others was a great example. God grant us all grace for the journey and peace in our sorrow. - Dean Klump

Dan was a golfing buddy, He had an even temper, and I cannot recall any discouraging words after an errant shot. He had one of the smoothest swings I ever saw. I particularly recall the accuracy of his approach shots. He was almost always giving himself a chance for a bird. I wish I could have seen him play in his prime.
We often sat together at lunch after a round of golf and at that time he revealed a great sense of humor and an equanimity of attitude toward all. He was a role model.
Yesterday I was privileged to meet his daughter Elizabeth and son Kenny. It is clear that the old saw "the apple does not fall far from the tree" is exemplified in his children. I am sorry for their loss.

Dan loved hearing our fun and crazy adventures, as he rolled his eyes and slightly smiled. I'll always remember him as a quite, gentle man a real gentleman, he took good care of his family and lead a life of honor and respect. I'm proud to have known him and I'm greatful for the amazing friendship I have with his children. I Love you to the moon and back. See you on the flip side.
