Daniel Ruiz Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 9, 2024.
Daniel Luis Ruiz (May 27, 1998 - January 7, 2024) found his peace at age 25, after a lifelong battle with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Daniel is reunited with his Mother Rosario Cano and His Aunt Mickey Ortiz. He will be deeply missed by his Siblings Gloria, Albert & Matthew Hurtado, His Uncle Pedro Flores, His Cousins, Aunts & Uncles of the Ortiz, Flores & Nuncio families, and so many more.

Those who knew him, know that he was a source of light and positivity despite his tragic condition. He fought through all of it and played the hand he was dealt like the true gamer he was and will always be.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2024, from 5:00p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 6:30p.m. at Southwest Funeral Home at 3946 S Zarzamora St. San Antonio TX 78225. On Monday, January 15, 2024, a mass will be held at the funeral home at 10:00a.m. followed by a departure to San Fernando Cemetery III.

My prayers are with the family and friends of Daniel. I was his special education teacher when he was at Graebner Elementary and I also taught his sister Gloria. I am saddened by his passing but I know he is now an angel among us. God bless the family at this sorrowful time.
