I did not personally the know the Sammartino Family, but talked to both Carol & Bruno on the phone from purchasing photos. My condolences to the entire family. My entire family are fans of Bruno as a wrestler, professional & a man. First class all of the way. 2 of my great grandparents were both from Abruzzi-Molise. Grandpa was a ham radio guy that had a big tower to talk to people back in Italy. He figured out how to hook up his television to the tower, thus getting a T.V. station from New York City & 1 from D.C. We were at their house doing yard work one Saturday & got finished about Mid Day. We were watching television while eating lunch & we found wrestling while going through channels. We found WWWF where Bruno made a rare appearance. Grandpa was with us & little Grandma was in the bedroom. Bruno was announced as being from Abruzzi, so we yelled for little grandma. She ran out with her rosary & we told her who Bruno was & she was right on that couch praying for him to win. After the bout, he was interviewed & spoke Italian to all of his Italian fans. We though grandma was going to explode. Turned into a weekly thing & then monthly with HBO. She loved Bruno, Domenic Denucci & Gorilla Monsoon. Bruno had the charisma, even for us all the way out in Colorado. Again, Sorry for your loss of a father, grandfather, uncle, son & brother (Bruno) Condolences for the loss of a son, brother & father

I just heard of Danny's untimely passing yesterday as I live about 90 miles north of Pittsburgh. I met Dan about eight and a half months ago at the calling hours for his father. He impressed me as being a fine gentleman and I know Bruno and Carol were very proud of the kind of man they raised. To Carol, Darryl and Dan's fiancée and children, you have my heartfelt sympathy.

I will always have fond memories of Danny from the time he spent with us at DeRiggis. His good nature joking and always having a smile. He was a good friend and I enjoyed working with him. I admired him for his great respect for his mother Carol and his father Bruno. Oh how I remember how he loved to tease his mom and always reminded me that he was a mama's boy and was not ashamed to admit it. It saddens me to know of his passing .My heartfelt condolences go out to the Sammartino family, his children, his fiance and Friends. May he rest in peace in the arms of our Lord and savior. Never to be forgotten. Sincerely Linda Galvan and family

We just heard of Dan's passing yesterday. I remember when he worked at the hair salon I go to and his wonderful sense of humor. That is evident from all the other messages. My husband now goes to Dan's barber shop. The first time he went there he told Dan you must really like Bruno Sammartino because of all the memorabilia . Dan said yes he is my father. Dan always made sure to tell my husband to say hi to the girls meaning me and my sister. Class act to someone who had the great gift of laughter. We were fans of Bruno. I had an ink pen of Bruno my dad got me when I was a child. Dan would have liked that.

Our thoughts are with you all.

I met Dan 20 years ago when I happened to wonder into a hair salon in Mcandless to buy shampoo. He handed me his card as I was leaving, and I saw his last name was Sammartino. I said "like as in Bruno?" He said "yes, he's my dad" I said "ya right"... We laughed about that for years. He was a very special friend. I will miss him very much. Until we meet again Dan....

I met Dan over 20 years ago at Ken's hair salon. Everywhere he worked people liked him, he was fun to be around. He'd crack jokes, tell stories, he was special because he made others feel special. It is so hard to believe he is gone. He loved and respected his parents so much, and valued family above all. Sincere sympathy and condolences to all the family. May God be with them now, and may He grant Dan eternal rest.

Carol, Darryl, & Cindy - all my most heartfelt condolences, love & prayers. They say some of the most treasured friendships are those you make in childhood...how true. I met Danny (and Darryl & the Sammartino family) in 1980, when we were 12 years old in 7th grade and we've been friends ever since. We had fun, crazy times and shared serious, sad times. Thanks for teaching me how to drive a stick when we were 16, even if we had to borrow a car because you wouldn't let me practice on yours. I'll miss stopping in the barber shop just to talk...I thought we'd grow old together & be those proverbial old men that hang out in your barber shop. "Hey, I said, you can keep my things, they've come to take me home." Solsbury Hill by Peter Gabriel. I remember that song playing when we were in your car one day & you turned it up because you liked it...now, how prophetic. Love you, brother, RIP.

To the Sammartino Family:

My thoughts and Prayers are with you. Danny has been my Barber for many years. We would always talk about our cars. He would stop cutting hair to come and show me his car or mine. He was always interested in what I had to say. We talked about everything and he could always make me laugh.

I'm shocked to say the least. He was a class act and a great person.

In my thoughts,

Dan was a barber that turned into a friend. I could always count on Dan to make me laugh when I was sitting in his chair and also hanging out after to talk about baseball, foolish pride and life lessons. The Barbers Edge holds a special place in my heart. Sending prayers and happy thoughts to the family. He is resting easy with his pops and his pup now.

Danny was my barber for many years but I also considered him a friend. He was a kind and thoughtful person who took a genuine interest in catching up of things since your last visit to the shop. He kept a gallon of Turner's Iced Tea in his mini fridge and always made sure I got a glass, knowing it was my favorite. We shared a common love of guns, our families, and Pittsburgh sports - and I usually had to take some ribbing about Penn State. His passing certainly came as a shock, and my thoughts and prayers go out to all his family and friends. He will be missed.
