Daniel W. Seeds, husband of Nancy H. Seeds and a resident of the Myrtle Trace community in Conway, died 9/30/2017 at Conway Medical Center after a long illness. He was born in Ossining, New York, on March 7, 1926, the eldest son of the late James W. Seeds, Sr. and Esther M. Partelow Seeds. Surviving in addition to his wife, Nancy H. are a step-son, Kevin A. Hovel of Poway, CA, a step-daughter, Elizabeth A. Traverse of Wenham, MA; five grandchildren, Alexander, Sarah and Ryan Traverse, William and Samuel Hovel. His siblings, James W. Seeds, Jr., William A. Seeds and Nancy J. Suierveld predeceased him.
He served proudly and honorably with the U.S. Navy amphibious forces in the Pacific during WW II and again from 1950 to 1952. Dan was elected to the Board of Education in Westchester County, New York, where he served for 9 years, 8 of them as President. After a thirty year career with IBM, much of it on foreign assignments, he spent his retirement years as a consultant and since 1995 was engaged with the Myrtle Trace Homeowners Association.
He was a devoted and supportive husband and father, an exemplary citizen and friend to many. Throughout his careers and his time with us, he touched many lives. He will be missed.
