I never met him in person, truthfully I'm not even sure if I've found the right Daniel.
If this is indeed him, the first time I ever had an interaction with him was over the phone, in North Dakota at the time. I can't exactly remember if he was wanting to talk to me or his son, but I remember how easy it was to talk to him. He was very kind, his voice was warm. He definitely had that classic dad charisma and humor.
I'll always remember this because when I answered the phone I was originally on the wireless house phone I think. Or my own phone. It was long ago now. Whatever the case, the phone had suddenly died mid conversation. I had panicked as I did not want to come off as rude, like I hung up. So I desperately looked around for his number and immediately called him back. I was sweating buckets at this point. When he answered again I felt like my soul could leave my body because he pretended like he was upset at first but he busted out into this hollering laugh shortly after. Time has long since passed that day and I still remember his warm goofiness to this day.
Despite the history that has passed, I do hope his family and loved ones are doing well. I know he left a empty space in their hearts. My condolences, may he rest in peace.

Been looking for my old friend for years, unfortunately I was too late. I left Fremont at age 15 but always remembered Dan. He taught me to ride motorcycles at age 8 on his honda mini trail. We were in boy scouts together. Will never forget him, my condolences to his family.
