Daniel Skinner

December 19, 1973-June 1, 2023

Daniel Skinner, 49, a long time resident of the Los Angeles area passed away Thursday, June 1st. He has survived by his two daughters, Jamie and Jessica Skinner, his siblings Jennifer Mercado (spouse Juan Mercado), Dean France (spouse Connie France), and his nephews Alexander Rosales, Adrian and Aaron Escalante, and Benjamin France.

Daniel worked with the Union Rescue Mission as a Gifts in Kind Coordinator. Daniel was responsible for coordinating between donors and the Union Rescue Mission to process donations ranging from food, clothing, electronics and various gifts in kind donations.

Daniel had many interests. He was a man that wore many hats...literally. He had a passion for learning. He enjoyed customizing and tinkering with electronics. Daniel enjoyed caring for his plants who he fondly referred to as his "girls". He was gifted artistically from a young age. He was a gifted artist as a child and won several art contests both in childhood and as a teen. He always kept an eye out for unique art, which he enjoyed organizing and arranging his personal space with. He also enjoyed dabbling in photography, which he eagerly shared with family and friends. Daniel loved supporting his community and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He will be remembered by his infectious smile, charisma, wittiness, and sweet disposition.

Thank you for all your help, knowledge, and past experiences with donors... you definitely made my transition to the GIK family a breeze! I'm grateful I got to learn from you and got to know you at URM. You are an amazing 'giant' with a heart just as huge. Missing and loving you everyday, knowing you're watching out from above, still guiding and helping me when I need. Enjoy your new playground up there, I'll see you again someday, my friend.
