CROCKETT Danielle Lela Demming Crockett was born in Mobile, Alabama on December 14, 1960. She exchanged life for eternity on June 5, 2010. She accepted Christ the second Sunday in April 1969 at the Sweet Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. E.C. Jones. She was a 1979 graduate of John L. Leflore High School. In the year of 1982 she united with New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and later united with the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where she served actively as Secretary for Pastor Payne; Sunday School Teacher, Matron's Counselor; and in the Pastor's Helper Ministry. She was preceded in death by her mother, Gannell Austin and step-father Peter Austin. Her memories will be carried on by her loving husband LaBarron Crockett; one truly devoted daughter Melanie (Rev. C. Vincent) Parker of McIntosh, Alabama; three sons, Justin (Jacquin) Demming, Leland Crockett, and Victor Payton (Ishmael) all of Mobile, Alabama; one granddaughter, Madison Danielle Demming and three grandsons; Jacob Owens III, Christian Smith and Joshua Demming; one sister, Lilly Demming Ricks of Lawrenceville, Georgia; one brother, Tyrone (Tiffany) Demming of Nashville, Tennessee; mother-in-law, Bernice Crockett; seven aunts, one devoted, Ruth Demming Golston; two uncles, one devoted, Aaron Demming; many nieces and nephews, one devoted, John Gerard of Lawrenceville, Georgia; three sister-in-laws, Grethen (Tommy) Mitchell, Gwen (Kenneth) Royal, and Leona (Andrew) Bolar; four brother in-laws, Raymond (Donna) Crockett, Joe (Mina) Crockett, Michael Crockett, Richard "Marian" Crockett; two Godsons, Isaiah Swopes, Jr., and Vantel Atkins. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 12, 2010 from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral hour at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, Cody Rd. Pastor John F. Payne officiating. Interment will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the careful direction of Reese Funeral Home.

Moma, We spent Thanksgiving together as a family. It just wasn't the same. No one cried. I think we all were scared to say anything about you in fear that the other would. Danielle was such a good spirit, she was fun, loving and a genuine friend. although I have not kept in contact with her over the years, I can't imagine that she has changed. Based on what I have read, she merely developed into a bigger, better and sweeter human being.
