Danielle Deyarmond Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 16, 2025.

On February 9, 2025, our beloved sister, Danielle Deyarmond, passed away unexpectedly.

Born in Arcadia, California, on October 30, 1969, Danielle was the first child of George and Louise. She was a graduate of Arcadia High School in 1987 and went on to attend California Lutheran University, where she showed her determination in seeing her dream of playing collegiate soccer come true. When Danielle first arrived at California Lutheran University, there was no women's team so she practiced with the men's team. By her junior year, Danielle's dream to build a women's program had come to fruition with the introduction of The California Lutheran Regals Women's Soccer Team. Before Danielle's playing days were over, she would earn all-league honors as a midfielder for the Regals.

After earning her Bachelor's Degree in 1991, Danielle began her career at Amgen, a biopharmaceutical company, where she worked for several years, eventually being promoted to the Director of Strategic Sourcing. While working at Amgen, Danielle earned her MBA from the Pepperdine Graziadio School of Business in 2005. Later in her career Danielle moved on to other opportunities in the Tech sector in the San Francisco Bay area.

In addition to her focus and determination, Danielle also had a passion for animals. Over her adult lifetime she rescued many dogs and cats having adventures with them all; Tequila who had an incident eating all the avocados from the tree in her backyard, sourcing a water dish outside of Duke's on Seaward after a day at the beach with Barney, Enzo the blind Australian Shepherd in Palo Alto, or Goose her most recent companion who made the move with her back to Ventura. She even had two cats named Spooky and Schleppi who would come in and out of the always open window in Danielle's home.

Danielle will not be forgotten by her many friends and is terribly missed by her family, including her brother George (Rebecca), sister Holly (Steve), her niece Charlotte, and nephew Fenway.

A memorial and burial at sea will take place in the spring off the coast of Ventura, where Danielle will be laid to rest alongside her late parents, George and Louise Deyarmond.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to your local humane society in Danielles memory.

I am heartbroken to hear of Danielle's passing. She was a fierce spirit and warrior. Beautiful and bold and determined. My heart goes out to Holly and George, and I hope that Danielle finds more peace wherever she is now. I wasn't aware that she had returned to Ventura but was glad to hear it as she had good memories there. I hope her last months were happy ones. Nancy Klopper

My deepest heartfelt sympathies to Danielle's family and friends. I worked with Danielle at Amgen many moons ago as we started our careers in biotech. She is an unforgettable soul.

Danielle lived in my neighborhood for the past few years - I saw her regularly. Our community tried to look after her - she was fixture here and was cared for by many people. She was always so kind and friendly to me and my dog - she loved dogs, including her own dog. She will be missed and remembered with love.

Holly and George, I´m so very sorry for your loss. Growing up with you guys, I looked up to Danielle. She was so well-liked, athletic, beautiful on the inside and out, and so very wise- she was the one who introduced me to dipping fries into my frosty! Most endearing was how much she loved you both and how very proud she was to be your big sister. I´m sending hugs to you and praying you´ll be comforted somehow.

I´m beyond heart-broken. I will never forget the true dedication Danielle had on the soccer field. What a pleasure it was to play at CLU with such an amazing, dedicated, passionate soccer player. Such a big heart on and off the field. So loved...beyond... and truly will never be forgotten. RIP, my friend.

She will be missed! Shared a lot of memories on the soccer field, soccer camps and friend gatherings. We all grew as a soccer family for the men and soccer team at CAL LU! I was very happy to know you Danielle.

I was one of many people lucky enough to share the field with Danielle at CLU. She was such a great mentor and friend - I have many fond memories of time spent with Danielle during those early years of the program.

My thoughts are with the whole family. Danielle & I were at Cal Lu together and played soccer- she was so much fun and big hearted. Many memories with her driving around in the VW- she loved that car! Danielle holds a fond place in my heart.
