Danny Cochran Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 5, 2024.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Danny Edward Cochran, aged 74, of O'Fallon, MO. Danny was born on January 20, 1949, at Scott AFB, Illinois, and departed from this world on November 11, 2023.

Danny grew up as a military "brat" and lived in many places, including England and Japan.

Danny dedicated 20 years of his life in service to his country as a member of the United States Air Force, from 1971 to 1991. His commitment and sacrifice in defense of our nation will always be remembered and honored.

Danny was a loving husband to his beloved wife Sue, and a devoted father to his daughter Sara Cochran Cima and son Matt Cochran. He held a special place in his heart for his cherished son-in-law Rob Cima and daughter-in-law Deena Kimiatek-Cochran. Danny's family was his pride and joy, and he treasured every moment spent with them. He loved being "Poppy" to Cori, Maggie, and Bobby Cima, and Charlotte Cochran.

In addition to his immediate family, Danny leaves behind his sister Debi Lopez, brother Keith Cochran, sister-in-law Brenda Cochran, mother-in-law Ann Foster, sister-in-law Patti Lawless, brother-in-law Bobby Lawless, sister-in-law Judi Coker, and brother-in-law David Coker. Also many much-loved nieces and nephews. Their bond of love and support brought comfort to Danny throughout his life. He was predeceased by his loving parents, Daniel and Oleatha Cochran, his father-in-law, Jim Foster, and his brother-in-law David Lopez, former brother-in-law Bill Nethery.

Danny will be remembered for his kind and gentle nature, unique sense of humor, always ready with a warm smile and a helping hand. He had a great love for literature, particularly history. Danny was also a passionate fan of the St Louis Cardinals and the University of Oklahoma Sooners, (where he obtained both his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees) finding joy in following their games. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, such as traveling, sightseeing, walking, and great meals.

Following his honorable military service, Danny pursued another successful career. He held managerial positions at McDonnell-Douglas and Boeing. His dedication and professionalism were admired by colleagues and friends alike.

A Visitation to honor Danny's life will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 4:00 pm, followed by a Memorial Service at 5:00 pm and a Celebration of Life at 5:30 pm. These services will take place at the home of his loving daughter, Sara Cochran Cima.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the World Central Kitchen. Danny had a compassionate heart and believed in the importance of helping those in need.

During this time of grief, let us remember Danny Edward Cochran as a man of honor, integrity, and unwavering love for his family. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew him.
