Daphne James Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 19, 2017.
LEWISTON: Daphne L. James, 54, of Lewiston passed away on Tuesday February 14, 2017 at St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston with her loving daughters by her side. She was born on June 11, 1962 in Damariscotta, ME a daughter of the late Charles and Marie (Tedford) James, Sr. She grew up in the Richmond area and attended local schools there. After school, Daphne worked as a stitcher for Supreme Slipper, Health Tex and other various mills. In the early 1990's, she became a CDL driver and drove for many companies over the years. She had particular passion for driving dump trucks. As of recent, she worked for Livebridge and was a driver for Five Star Taxi until she had to stop working due to her illness. Daphne will always be remembered for her love of the earth and her drive to contribute to the environment and practice earth friendliness for the better of our planet and nature. She was a very generous person who donated to several nature related organizations whenever she could. She would give to others as often as well, without ever expecting anything in return. She loved her grandchildren very much and spent as much time with them as she could. And those that knew her will never forget her wild and crazy bluntness. She is survived by her two daughters, Tina Leveille and her husband Jaice of Winchendon, MA and Tanya Chickering of Lewiston. She also leaves behind her two sisters, Robin Dearborn of Lewiston and Deborah Brown and her companion Sidney Lord of Lewiston as well as her precious grandchildren; Patrick "Peepa" Caron, Jr., Anna Toothaker, Preston Caron, James "Bubba" Toothaker, Jr., Brandon "Bean" Toothaker, Evan Caron and Blake Roy. She was predeceased by her brother, Charles James, Jr.

I think about the promise you made, we'd get together when you felt better, and sadly I know now; why you didn't write back. Rest in peace.
