Darcy Anderson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 8, 2013.
Darcy L. Anderson, 55, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away April 5, 2013 at his home with his family by his side. Darcy was born July 8, 1957, to Wayne and Jean Anderson in Fargo, N.D. He lived in Hunter, N.D. until moving to Phoenix with his family in 1968. He attended Barcelona Grade School and Alhambra High School. Darcy worked in the pool/spa plumbing business and in many different phases of the construction industry including building log homes. He enjoyed making log furniture, creating metal works, and refurbishing items most would consider a throwaway. The sound of a Harley would bring smile to his face. He dearly loved riding his Harley. Everyone that knew and loved Darcy, will miss him. His parents, Wayne and Jean Anderson, and his sister, Debbie Sanders, precede him in death. He is survived by his loving partner of 22 years and wife of 5 days, Karen, his sister, Colleen Lovitt, sons, Justin and Cody, and granddaughter, Serenity. He also leaves nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends. Please join us for a "Celebration of Darcy's Life" on April 27th from 1PM-5PM at 4133 W. Keim Drive, Phoenix, AZ. We are deeply grateful to Hospice of the Valley for the loving care that was given to Darcy. Arrangements entrusted to Advantage Mortuary.

Darc, we were brothers throughout the years. Brothers of different mothers. We went our different ways but I still felt you and I shared the same feelings of brotherhood. We were blessed to have a reunion in Texas where we shared our camaraderie that lasted throughout the years. When you and I jumped from that cliff as if we were still in our teens was a great inspiration to the both of us. I enjoyed the conversation we had as if we were never separated by the years. Miss you Bro. I'll see you in the funny papers...

With deep sorrow and overwhelming grief I say goodbye to the most amazing man I've ever known. Put simply, Darcy is my best friend, my brother. Darcy has a way about him that makes people feel special from the very first introduction. His focus on you, keen sense of humor, knowledge, and the ability to make a point at just the right moment, all draw you to Darc. His body language, facial expressions, and easy laugh keep you engaged until you feel like the most important person in the world. What's remarkable is Darcy does this for everyone - no matter who they are. This charisma is genuine, warm, inviting, and posseses a comfort seldom found. A quite sense of confidence that everything will be okay. You feel better when Darcy is around; about yourself, about everything. To have had him as a brother is, indeed, a blessing. The first night I met Darcy, he did me a favor. He made my journey easier and his a little harder. Such acts of selflessness were just part of his character. He thought nothing of it, was glad to do it, ask for nothing in return. That concern for another persons well-being continued throughout Darcy's life. Along the way he showed me how friendships are cultivated and how people should be treated. The Golden Rule stuff, turn the cheek, do what's right; not necessarily for you but for others; and in the end you'll always benefit. These things were instinctual with Darc. He is that cool. Darcy was down-to-earth yet incredibly complex. He carried no airs or pretensions and would rather delight in the achievements of others than his own successes. His craftmanship was beyond reproach yet he was tactiful with his criticism of anothers work. Everything he touched turned out better. I will miss our little projects and his gentle guidance. Darcy's zest for life and try anything (almost) once attitude was infectious and exciting though not necessarily careless. I was fortunate to know him a long time. We often discussed our lives, our mistakes, and how men should behave. I'm proud we learned to say "I love you" to eachother and those in our lives. And to exhibit specific behaviors which reinforced those words. Darcy understood the profound affect of such things. So Darc, I love you. I miss you already and sometimes, selfishly, wonder how I'll make it through life without my brother. But then I remember one of your last jokes. How you'll open the back gate on my judgement day. I know you're in Heaven with Jean, and Wayne, and Debbie. Because God reassures me a creature of such beauty, His creation, does not simply perish. My life has been infinitely better because of Darcy. He was my teacher by example, an advisor with insight, and the possessor of a soul which soothed. You will always be in my heart and prayers.

Will miss you dear friend and brother. Many are the wonderful memories we created over the years(especially growing up in our wild days). The world has lost a truly wonderful man but heaven has gained yet another Angel.

DARCY IN MY OPINION WAS A QUIET GOOD MAN
WITH PLENTY OF FINE QUALITIES TO MAKE ANY
ONE SEEK HIM OUT.AND MY SISTER IS ONE OF THOSE WHO FOUND MANY YEARS ENJOYING THOSE
FINE TRAITS.I ONLY CAME TO TOWN ON ON A FEW OCASSIONS AND DARCY MAKE ME FEEL LIKE
A FRIEND AND FAMILY EVERYTIME.I DO REGRET
NOT BEING AROUND MORE TO VISIT AND WORK
WITH HIM.WE HAD A LOT IN COMMON.SO YES
HE WILL BE MISSED.AND I BELIEVE HE WILL
BE RESSURECTED AND SHARE IN THE HOPE OF
LIVING FOREVER ON A PARADISE EARTH.

For a man who knew how to do almost everything under the sun, God is grateful to have you in his care. I hope you are at home with your parents and sister in Heaven. I miss you dearly and I know my mom and your family feel the same. Time may pass, but you will never be forgotten. Love, Sarah.
