Darc, we were brothers throughout the years. Brothers of different mothers. We went our different ways but I still felt you and I shared the same feelings of brotherhood. We were blessed to have a reunion in Texas where we shared our camaraderie that lasted throughout the years. When you and I jumped from that cliff as if we were still in our teens was a great inspiration to the both of us. I enjoyed the conversation we had as if we were never separated by the years. Miss you Bro. I'll see you in the funny papers...

With deep sorrow and overwhelming grief I say goodbye to the most amazing man I've ever known. Put simply, Darcy is my best friend, my brother. Darcy has a way about him that makes people feel special from the very first introduction. His focus on you, keen sense of humor, knowledge, and the ability to make a point at just the right moment, all draw you to Darc. His body language, facial expressions, and easy laugh keep you engaged until you feel like the most important person in the world. What's remarkable is Darcy does this for everyone - no matter who they are. This charisma is genuine, warm, inviting, and posseses a comfort seldom found. A quite sense of confidence that everything will be okay. You feel better when Darcy is around; about yourself, about everything. To have had him as a brother is, indeed, a blessing. The first night I met Darcy, he did me a favor. He made my journey easier and his a little harder. Such acts of selflessness were just part of his character. He thought nothing of it, was glad to do it, ask for nothing in return. That concern for another persons well-being continued throughout Darcy's life. Along the way he showed me how friendships are cultivated and how people should be treated. The Golden Rule stuff, turn the cheek, do what's right; not necessarily for you but for others; and in the end you'll always benefit. These things were instinctual with Darc. He is that cool. Darcy was down-to-earth yet incredibly complex. He carried no airs or pretensions and would rather delight in the achievements of others than his own successes. His craftmanship was beyond reproach yet he was tactiful with his criticism of anothers work. Everything he touched turned out better. I will miss our little projects and his gentle guidance. Darcy's zest for life and try anything (almost) once attitude was infectious and exciting though not necessarily careless. I was fortunate to know him a long time. We often discussed our lives, our mistakes, and how men should behave. I'm proud we learned to say "I love you" to eachother and those in our lives. And to exhibit specific behaviors which reinforced those words. Darcy understood the profound affect of such things. So Darc, I love you. I miss you already and sometimes, selfishly, wonder how I'll make it through life without my brother. But then I remember one of your last jokes. How you'll open the back gate on my judgement day. I know you're in Heaven with Jean, and Wayne, and Debbie. Because God reassures me a creature of such beauty, His creation, does not simply perish. My life has been infinitely better because of Darcy. He was my teacher by example, an advisor with insight, and the possessor of a soul which soothed. You will always be in my heart and prayers.

May God comfort you, Karen and your family in this time of sorrow. When words become meaningless, please know, you are in my prayers and ever so close to my heart. Hold strong to your memories as his laughter and smile will bring you peace. I will see you in Heaven dear friend. So this is not good bye but see you later!

For a man who knew how to do almost everything under the sun, God is grateful to have you in his care. I hope you are at home with your parents and sister in Heaven. I miss you dearly and I know my mom and your family feel the same. Time may pass, but you will never be forgotten. Love, Sarah.
