Darius Jerome "Big D" Miles

An assistant manager for Progressive Healthcare at Stern Home and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009, at LSU Earl K. Long Medical Center. He was 27 and a native of Baker. Visiting at Mount Wade Baptist Church, 21255 Reames Road, Zachary, on Saturday, Jan. 2, from 9 a.m. until religious service at 11 a.m., conducted by Bishop Willie Shavers Jr. Interment in Holly Grove Cemetery. He is survived by a special friend, Aphrodite Garder and her son, Zion Burrel; mother, Phyllis Miles-Moore; stepfather, James Moore; grandmother, Mary Miles; goddaughter, Kennedy Marian Shavers; sisters, Crystal Miles, Relatsha Miles and Donniece Porter; niece, Johnicia Miles; nephew, Jamorian Miles; six uncles and two aunts. Preceded in death by a brother, John Wallace Miles; grandfather, Benjamin Miles; and great-grandparents. Arrangements by Carney-Mackey Funeral Home.
