Darla Winch Thornton, 64, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2025, in Texas. She was born on March 27, 1960, to Joseph and Linda Winch.

Darla was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend who touched the lives of many with her kindness, generosity, and nurturing spirit. She was a woman of faith and compassion, always putting others before herself and bringing light and laughter to those around her. Her strength and unwavering love were the foundation of her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 44 years, Jeffrey Thornton, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, adventure, and cherished memories.

Darla is survived by her daughter, Sarah Balarin, and wife Becky; her brother, Roger Winch, and his wife Gerry; her sisters, Becky Franklin and her husband Charlie, and Patty Umfleet; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends who will miss her dearly. Darla's legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on in all who knew her.

The family would like to express their gratitude to those who provided care and support to Darla in her final days.
