Darlene Claire Stremel

Darlene was simply one of the nicest people I've ever met. I was honored to be able to help her and see her nearly every day for years. She was always smiling, always pleasant. I enjoyed joking with her and she would play along. She joined me for many trips around the area and I can still hear her voice as she chatted with her seatmate. When we returned I'd often accompany her to her apartment and she never failed to thank me. And I would thank her.

"We live in beautiful country". She'd say that every trip - she appreciated everything. Her daughters visited often and many times she'd tell me how lucky she was and how proud she was of them.

When entertainers came to Baypointe, Darlene would sit up front, keeping perfect time with her cane and mouthing the lyrics - she seemed to know the words to every song. And watching her dance with John was always a quiet joy.

Anyone who knew her will remember her. Her sweet smile and gentle nature will stay with me. Thank you, Darlene.
