Darrell Collins Eller was born on April 12, 1963 to Francis and Katie Eller at St. Catherine Hospital in East Chicago, Indiana. Darrell attended Ernie Pyle Elementary School, Bailly Junior High School, and Lew Wallace High School, all in Gary, Indiana. He later obtained his GED.

He grew up at Zion Temple Apostolic Church in Gary, Indiana, pastored by the late Bishop O. C. Garmon, and was baptized in Jesus' Name in 1997.

Darrell loved his family immensely, and was always available to help everyone. He was a handyman, and a protector of everyone he loved. He enjoyed riding his motorcycles, and barbequing for family and friends.

Darrell had been employed by several funeral homes in the area. They included Lakeshore, Smith and Bizzell, Powell Coleman, McDuffie Funeral and Cremation Services, Gary, Indiana; Coleman and Hicks in Michigan City, Indiana. He also was previously employed by several departments in the City of Gary. He also was an entrepreneur, owning SDM Security, and Northwest Indiana Funeral Escort Service.

Darrell passed away Friday, August 22, 2025 at Methodist Hospital Southlake, Merrillville, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his father, Francis Eller; son, Darrell (Chuckie )Eller; brother, Frank Eller; great-nephew, Dominique Wood; godmother, Mother Augustine Rodgers and bonus granddaughter, Andrea' Foster.

Darrell leaves to cherish his memory, beloved mother, Katie Eller; children: Korey Gordon, South Bend, Indiana, Shontell Washington, Atlanta, Georgia, Danyelle Eller, Johnathan Eller, Nikko Eller, De'Markus Eller, all of Gary, Indiana; sisters, JoAnne (Czerney) Holiday, of Gary, Indiana; Darlene Draper, of Atlanta, Georgia; brothers, Albert (Blanca) Eller, of Denver, Colorado; Keith (Linda) Eller, of Merrillville, Indiana; bonus children, Stephenie Sinclair, of Merrillville, Indiana, Tremell Sinclair of Gary, Indiana; special friend, Tameka Jackson; 26 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Visitation Friday August 29,2025 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at McDuffie Funeral and Cremation 1525 Broadway Gary,In. Wake :9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. Funeral 11:00 a.m. Saturday August 30,2025 11:00 a.m. at New Hope M.B. Church 2307 Rhode Island St. Gary,In.

God's servant he was a servant to all. Everytime he saw me he had to tell mama Katie Eller and say Wedlow want to say hello and PTL. He knows I loved him and mama and Bid Sis Jo and Big Keith the great officer of peace,. Rest in Love great one you did your job. You will be missed ushering everybody's funeral. You were the GOAT of funeral processing. Wedlow here for the family. Love you all

Darrell Eller was a person who never said no to anyone in need. I'm going to miss him and his greetings each time we would meet at the store or just on the street. He always had an encouraging word. To the family I extend my deepest condolences.Msy God's grace, mercy And peace be with you.
