Daryl J. Barker

Clearwater - 65, passed away May 13th at his home in Clearwater, Fl. He was the son of Jack and Mary Barker of Peoria, IL. He is survived by his brother Richard (Cathy) Barker of Peoria and Donnie (Lynne) Barker of East Peoria. He is also survived by his partner, Scott Haines. He was preceded in death by his parents his sister Christine Buyck (Richard). Preceding in death also was his husband, Jeff Oppe. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and his beloved Bassett Hounds, Hank and Tony. He graduated from Peoria Central High School and Methodist School of Nursing. He was an RN at Tampa Bay General Hospital retiring after Covid. He loved going to concerts, the beach and watching the Tampa Bay Rays. He was a kind soul who loved God, his family and friends. He has a passion for helping dogs. For several years he would collect dog food and take it to the local shelters. Cremation rites have been accorded. As per his wishes there will be no services.
