Every time I saw David, he made me laugh. He had an uncanny ability to make everything seemingly funny, while also being thoughtful and poignant. He was intelligent, deeply curious, and very kind. I will miss him greatly.

I am so sad to hear about David´s passing. He was such a part of the fabric of our family. Such a good friend to my dad. He and I had many inside jokes (I mean, who didn´t?). He was a dear, sweet, funny man and I will miss him. Sending love to the whole Appel family.
