An over the moon gifted writer (and let us not forget director, producer, manager, and seeker . . .) who will without question be missed by many. Of the innumerable creative endeavors he undertook I shall forever remember him first and foremost through the mesmerizing Key West -- easily the most intelligent and ambitious show to ever accrue pixels on American television. Following your bliss now David . . . My deepest condolences to Shevonne.

So sorry to hear of his passing. David was a joy to work with in Shreveport. A grand talent has left way too soon.

My heartfelt sympathies go out to your family during this difficult time. I hope the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 can bring much comfort. Just knowing that there's a hope for the ones we have lost in death can be so reassuring.
My love

Very sad to hear about David Beaird's passing. He was a hell of an actor, director and producer and a force to be reckoned with. Although just a year older in high school I was immediately struck by his talents, energy and intensity. In the summer of 1974 in Shreveport he directed me in a production of Waiting for Godot', which we played for the laughs and I think worked like a charm. I worked in his theatre in Chicago for a season (Merchant of Venice, Wizard of Id, Threepenny Opera). We made the film Party Animal' together, the production of which was the real party. A common thread through all these projects (some more successful than others we have to admit) was our laughter and David's boldness and audacity. Although we lost touch over the years I will remember him fondly with love and respect. RIP David. Matthew Causey
