My thoughts and prayers are with Dave and his family. I only met Dave a couple of times, he was always so friendly and fun. I'm so sorry I didn't know him better. To his family and friends, I'm so sorry for your loss.

My condolences to your family. Dave was so important to my brother and my father. His long career at Kosco and loyalty to our family will be remembered. May he be written in the book of life as a life well lived.

When I first returned to Kosco in 1982, I had never been to a wake or funeral. Dave, like a big brother took me, showed me how to act and how to be a man. During the past 33 years, to this day, that has not changed.
Dave worked for Kosco for 43 years. My father hired him in 1971 after a one minute interview. Dave had caddied for my parents at Wiltwyck, and that was enough.
Dave worked for over 25 years without missing a day work for a sick day. Even after major surgery, he would be sitting at his desk. He was the most loyal, dedicated, and trusted friend and coworker.
Out of the office there was not a person more fun or entertaining to spend time with, especially on the course. He had a special skill, a gift. He would know the course, the greens, the type of shot to hit, what the winning score would be, the competition, the likely cheaters, when lunch was served, where the beer cart was, and where to sit to get the first shot at the buffet line.
I will always picture Dave at a barbecue, with a heaping mound of food; a hamburger, hot dogs, potato salad and chips. He would balance the plate as he dug through the cooler...digging....digging finally coming up with a diet coke... and a few ultras for later. Watching calories...that's Dave.
I want to say that I am not sorry for any of the awful jokes I played on him, nor any he played on me.
He lived these last few difficult months as he lived his whole life, with courage, dignity, and caring about others first. He was a true Gentle Man.
As we know, the most important thing to Dave was Diane and his family.
Thank you Dave for making us feel part of that family.
God Bless You.
