David W. "Dave" Boden age 63, of Mendon died on Saturday, May 1, 2021 while working in his shed. David was born in Quincy on May 13, 1957 a son of Donald "Don" and Rosemary "Rosie" (Rossiter) Boden. He married Merry T. Hickey/Morrison on February 10, 2020 in Quincy and she survives.
David worked at United Rentals. He also owned his own business "Everything Outdoors." He was an entrepreneur in his own right. He was a 1975 graduate of Quincy High School.
David was of the Catholic faith. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and a lifetime member of the N.R.A. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He had a heart of gold and never hesitated to help anyone who needed assistance. David was a diehard Cardinals fan and a retired volleyball and softball player himself. He loved his grandkids, and they thought that he was the best grandpa ever. He turned a lot of heads when he responded to being called "Wanda", which was a nickname amongst his coworkers at Hucks Fixtures back in the day.
In addition to his wife Merry, survivors include his children, Kandis (Jeremie Sanders) Boden of Port Orange, FL; Krysti (David) Thomas of Manchester, MO; Tyler (Ashley) Willingham of Highland, IL; Tasha Neisen and Zach Morrison of Quincy, IL. Nine grandchildren, Ryan Neisen, Lola Thomas, Laila Thomas, Aliyah Morrison, Allie Wensing, Ashton Sanders, Indie Thomas, Cullen and Corbin Willingham. One sister and two brothers, Donna Williamson, Tom Boden, Ralph (Jill) Boden; in-laws, Linda Boden, Jerry (Sharon) Hickey; Terry (Debbie) Hickey all of Quincy, IL. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
David was preceded in death by his parents, his son Trevor Morrison, his sister Kay Steffen, and his brother Dennis Boden.
