Was so sorry to hear that Senator Boren has passed away. I worked for him on the staff of the Senate Intelligence Committee and greatly respected his intellect, kindness and dedication to national security. He was a great leader and friend. My condolences to his family.

David Boren was a friend and we served together as Captains in the Oklahoma National Guard. Over the years I developed a great respect for him as a brilliant person, a dedicated citizen and a statesman at the state and national level. He possessed a great sense of humor coupled with a determination to make government work effectively. He was one of the greatest individuals I have known.

I have been an admirer of David Boren for his entire career. I have been fortunate to meet him on several occasions, to sit next to him on a speaker’s table, and been hosted by him on a Leadership Oklahoma trip to Washington, DC. Every time I heard him speak, I was in awe of his ability to communicate complex ideas to his audience in a way they could easily grasp. He was a great Governor, Senator, and OU President. Thank you, Sir.
