David Bremner Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 19, 2023.
David Bremner, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, passed away peacefully in St. Paul on September 12, 2023, with the wonderful help of his hospice crew Sarah, Sharon, Nicole and Bill.

David is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Jan, and their two sons, Jacob and Tony (Courtney). He was a cherished Gpa to Anthony (Maddie), Sam, and Max. David also leaves behind his loving sisters, Susan (Jerry) and Peggy (Tio), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Timothy.

David's interests included ice fishing and golf, which brought him joy and relaxation throughout his life. He found solace and contentment in the serenity of the frozen lakes and the challenge of the golf course.

David's family held a private Celebration of Life in his honor. As a man of few words, David's presence spoke volumes, and his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to a charity of one's choice in David's name. This is a meaningful way to honor his memory and continue his legacy of compassion and kindness.

Sue, Peggy, Jan & family: I just learned of David's passing from someone I ran into. I am so sorry for your loss. I grew up in the neighborhood along with Harry Osland & Colleen Coleman. We had a great group of kids & Dave was one of them. We were always up to something - hide & seek, baseball, fireworks. Again I am so sorry for your loss. Peace, Janelle (Johnson) Schlick

My first really best friend: hide and seek, ring and run, home run derby at Harmon field. We nearly burned his house down lighting the garbage can on fire in the garage. My condolences to Jan and boys as well as Sue and Peggy , and all Dave´s family and friends.
Also, sure appreciated Steve Keller´s kind words.

Sending condolences to Jan and family, Dave was a great friend at work, he taught me how to make pickles in his back yard and we golfed a few rounds. I will always have good memories of you Dave!

Dave and I grew up un the same neighborhood. Met as toddlers and hung around together since we were old enough to cross the street alone. When we were fifteen we bought motor cycles and road together into our late twenties. Dave had a passion for cars and introduced me to my first Mopar. Back in the seventies and early eighties we also did a little pheasant hunting together. Dave would invite us over for his fourth of July get togethers and he'd make his famous slider burgers. He was a master at cooking and especially grilling. Taught me how to properly prepare and grill venison steaks! He enjoyed golfing in the summer and ice fishing in the winter. He'd call and say I just put away the clubs and now it's time to get the fish house ready. For years we ice fished together. We use to joke about the fact that we spent more time in Hotels and Motels with each other than with our wives. When ever we'd venture out for a trip he'd always pack his portable grill and he'd make gourmet meals on the tailgate of the truck. I will surely miss taking those adventures with Dave.

Dave was a joy to be around. I loved his little smile and how he always made Jan laugh. I enjoyed working with him and the times that him and Jan took us on their boat and our get togethers. Dave was a wonderful person we will truly miss Dave. Sending our deepest sympathy to the dear Jan and the family.

I have known Dave for 60 years or so. He lived behind my Gram Ryan´s house. I played hockey with him, caddied at Somerset Country Club with him. And later played golf in the Old Time Caddy Tournament at Somerset. After Jan would the best lasagna dinner. He was a loving, caring man who never had a bad word to say about anyone. He will be remembered as a great friend, father, brother, husband. RIP Dave!!
