Karl and Jean, I just heard of your untimely loss. What a sad thing to bury your child. He sounds like a beautiful person in his soul. He looks like you, Karl. I will pray for him and also for you two that you get through this devastating time. I wish there were words of comfort I could give you, but this is difficult for all concerned.

I did not have the pleasure to know you personally Dave...but I knew "of" you...You were the guy behind the sound board at the Brick House...the place where everyone sounded great. I had made a few informal inqueries about "who was the guy that ran sound" at the Brick House... "I wanted to know this guy. He has talent." I had hopes of meeting you, but I never took the opportunity to introduce myself and express my similar love for music. The lesson learned...Seize the day. A lot of bands will never again sound so good. You will be missed. Vaya con Dios. pwg

Dave was one of the kindest and most thoughtful people I've ever had the honor of spending time with. We'll miss his humor and compassion, and are better people for having known him.

Warmest regards,

To The Family of David Bye,

In the brief moment that I met him and got to talk to him it was immediately apparent to me how passionate David was in all his endeavors. The expression of joy on his face at helping others; from painstakingly using his art as a sound technician to bring out the best in each and every band on stage to raising money and awareness of Prune Belly Syndrome. That joy was real and tangible. One of God’s creations has come home to rest in His hands. The heavenly choir of angels now have a new sound man and their voices will be heard all the more sweetly with Dave behind the board.

God Bless and Peace,

Kurt Walker

Dave and I worked as partners in the carpenter's union back in the late 70's or early 80's. I'll always remember his love for music. He turned me on to a lot of great bands.

Dave, I just spoke with you last Friday as you worked sound on our show with the Molenes. You had recently returned from vacation, and we all had missed you at the Brick House. We have been playing at The Dover Brickhouse since it opened, and I willalso rememebr your gentle but direct demeanor. You always did your best for us, and for the club. I am thankful that we had the opportunity to work with you one more time, a mere two days before your passing. Be in peace brother...
