LUDLOW – David A. "Tex" Cambo, 74, of Longview Circle, died peacefully Friday, May 27 at Baystate Medical Center with his family by his side. Born in Palmer, March 6, 1937, he was the son of Walter H. and Eileen (Rowe) Cambo. He grew up in Three Rivers and was a graduate of Palmer High School and has lived in Ludlow since 1981. He worked in the maintenance department at UMASS Amherst for 26 years prior to his retirement. A veteran of the US Army, he was a member of the AMVETS Post in Three Rivers. He was also a member of the John Boyle O'Reilly Club.David had many interests in his life, including reading, cars, travel and cooking. He will be deeply missed by his wife Arline L. (Nadeau) Cambo, along with his 5 children, Cynthia Hamel and her husband David, Glenn Cambo and Lynn Stearns, all of Belchertown, Mark Cambo of W. Brookfield, and Sandra Cambo of Westfield, along with 3 step children Joanne Shaw and her husband Paul and William Eagen and his wife Marcy all of Ludlow, and Kenneth Eagen and his wife Tara of Feeding Hills. He also leaves siblings Paul Cambo and his wife Tess of Wilbraham, Geraldine Allen and her husband Lenny of Springfield, Margot Garstka and her husband Robert of Chicopee, and Joyce Sawyer and her husband Wilfred of Ludlow, brother in law Paul Bigos of Three Rivers and close friends Donald and Patricia Farrell of Bondsville. Additionally, 15 grandchildren, Meghan, Robyn, Ryan, Scott, Elizabeth, Renee, Alexandria, Allison, William, Liam, Dylan, Benjamin, Patrick, Caitlin and Declan and three great grandchildren, Brianna, Aaron and Lily along with many nieces and nephews survive him. Besides his parents, his siblings Arlyn Cambo and Jeanne Bigos preceded him in death. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 31 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Beers and Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N. Main St., (Rte 20). A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, June 1, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Church in Ludlow followed by burial in Mass Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Agawam. Friends may gather Wednesday at Beers & Story at 9:45 a. m. prior to the Mass. For those wishing, donations may be made in his memory Boston Children's Hospital.
