David Carpender Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 3, 2025.
David C. Carpender passed away on Monday, December 30, 2024, in Fairhaven, Massachusetts, at the age of 71. His passing came just one day after his birthday, following a lengthy battle with multiple health issues.

David grew up in Brockton but spent much of his later life in the New Bedford area, most recently residing in Fairhaven. A devoted fan of local sports, he found great joy in cheering for the New England Patriots and Boston Bruins.

He was predeceased by his parents, Mary (1991) and Joseph (2009), as well as his brother Joseph (2006) and sister Diana (2015). David is survived by his son, Marty Washburn of Fall River; his sisters Carol Fitting and Marianne Carpender, both of Taunton; Bonnie Parker of Raynham; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

David's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at The Royal of Fairhaven and Community Nurse Hospice for their compassionate care during his final days.

May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.

I remember uncle David as always being funny and trying to make us laugh. Whether it was calling himself uncle banana nose or making funny faces. I liked spending with him when I got the chance. He will always be remembered. Rest in peace Uncle David.
