David Coley

David Coley, beloved husband, father, son and brother, passed into the Lord's arms on Saturday, July 11, 2009, due to injuries in a motorcycle accident.David was born on July 16, 1955, and lived most of his life in Corsicana. As the owner of David E. Coley Company, he was a Broker/Realtor, as well as certified appraiser. David loved Corsicana and was active in many community organizations and activities. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Corsicana, where he worked on the audio/visual team. He was past president of Corsicana Optimist Club, active in the Corsicana Chamber of Commerce, past president of the 100 Club, as well as an active member of the Navarro County Appraisal Board. David was active in Navarro Bikers Club, where he participated in Toys for Tots, Motorcycle Santa, and many fund-raising/community service activities. David was a staunch supporter of children and youth programs, serving as president of the PTO at Fannin Elementary during the time his children attended, as well as an active supporter of Corsicana athletics and Navarro County Youth Expo. David also served as the campaign treasurer for State Rep. Byron Cook.David leaves behind many loving family members: his wife Dawn, daughter Sadie, and son Jonah; parents, Joyce and Howard Coley of Corsicana; sister, brother-in-law and nephew of College Station, Luann, Ray and Adam Argersinger; mother-in-law, Dolores Knutson of Wisconsin; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Darlene and Gary Otterson of Missouri, Diane and Pat Mulroy of Wisconsin, and Debbie and Rollie Johnson of Wisconsin; nieces, Meegan Otterson of Missouri, Meredith Otterson of Virginia and Melanie O'Keefe of Wisconsin; and nephews Andy Mulroy of Ohio, Kelly Mulroy of Florida, Jacob Johnson of Arizona, and Rob and Jordan Johnson of Wisconsin. In addition, David leaves behind many lifelong friends who will remember his smiling face and generous spirit in helping others in time of need.David was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Howard; grandparents, Truman and Jo Coley and the Rev. J.E. and Myrtle Deming; and niece, Amy Argersinger.Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 13, at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, at First Baptist Church with the Rev. B.F. Risinger officiating.
