David Desrochers

David Arthur "Dave" Desrochers, 75, passed away peacefully on August 3, 2025, in Amsterdam, New York, surrounded by his family.

Born on February 11, 1950, in Schenectady, New York, Dave spent his life rooted in the Capital Region. He was a man of quiet strength and enduring commitment, whose life reflected devotion to family and hard work.

Dave and his wife Joanne retired to Florida just under a decade ago where they made many dear friends whom they treasured and enjoyed spending time with.

Dave built a long and steady career in retail with Hannaford Brothers, where he was known for his reliability and dedication. Later in life, he brought his compassionate nature to Child and Family Services of Schenectady. In addition to his professional roles, Dave was an entrepreneur at heart and owned several businesses over the years-ventures that reflected his initiative and determination.

A man of faith, Dave was Catholic and held his beliefs close throughout his life. His spiritual grounding helped guide him through both joyful times and moments of loss.

Dave's greatest devotion was to his beloved wife, Joanne N. Desrochers, who passed away earlier this year in March. Their bond was one of deep affection and mutual support-a partnership that endured through decades of shared life. Dave's love for Joanne remained steadfast until the end.

He is survived by a loving family who will carry forward his memory: sons Jonathan Desrochers (Ed) and Jason Desrochers; daughter Nicole Case; stepdaughters Amory Cariadus (Jennifer), Julie Moreland (Tom), and Anna Mae Pierce; stepson Richard Buisch (Michelle); and sisters Claudia and Toni. Dave also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephew and cousins-all of whom he adored deeply.

A memorial service honoring Dave's life will be held at a later date.
