I am going to miss Mr DJ's hugs, jellies, the best tomatoes and stories. His honesty and sense of humor has supplied me with much laughter! Front porch sitting with him and Jake, and his previous dog Samantha was much to be enjoyed. He has showed me unconditional love over the years and a blessing to my family. Praying for the family, friends and loved ones.

That is the DJ that I remember... DJ and I worked together at Fabrics. Inc. until they decided to move to Simpsonville, SC and we watched a tornado lift the roof on the building across the street.. That was way back in the 60's.. Now they have even torn that building down .. Then along came Mr. Bob Scott who decided to start American Fabrics right down the street and DJ, Weldon Crowder, and I just joined right in and we built a business together... DJ was a really special person and I for one will never forget him... GOD bless all of his nieces and nephews and their families... You are blessed to have had him as your Uncle...

We loved Mr. Doster, but didn't like his dog Jake to well. We were so shocked to here about his death. I know he was 95 years old, but he sure didn't act like it. He really lived life to its fullest. He will certainly be missed by many. Our prayers go out to his family.

Mr. DJ was good friends with our fathers, J.C. Loyd, and Robert Laton. What a wonderful man he was. He was always willing to share from his beautiful garden with everyone. Rest in peace Mr. DJ. We will miss you.

DJ - so proud to have known you and enjoyed your stories so much - you have been in our lives for as far back as I can remember and enjoyed knowing and visiting with "Miss Carrie" and "Mr. Jack" - what a reunion you are enjoying with your family and friends that have gone on before. Tell them Mary says hey! With loving memories of a wonderful Christian man, Mary (Plyler)and Mike Mosley and children.

You so blessed my life. Although I did not know you for long it felt as if I had known you forever. I know you are running and jumping for joy in heaven. I know Jake is going to have an empty place in his heart just as I do.

Uncle DJ go rest high on that mountain your work on this earth is done. You were a blessing and a good dose of reality all rolled up in one. You always had a storyy to tell. A true genuine loving heart and soul. I will miss you more that there are words. Give my grandmothers both a big hug for me.

I met Mr. DJ Doster when I was a young nurse caring for his mother. We held a special bond from that time on. Mr. DJ frequented the hospital visiting the sick and visiting with his "special nurses." His garden became a community garden as he shared his garden favorites and flowers. His mind was sharp as he could remember my family's name. He loved his family, his neighbors, his Church, and his dog. I know you are smiling from Heaven now. Patricia Wallace

Rest in peace Uncle D.J. You were a wonderful man, I feel honored to have known and loved. Crotchety, though you could be, I always figured as long as you had lived, you earned the right!
Now you can rest easy and go mow God's grass, twice a week, if you must.
We love you and will miss you.
