He was a proud graduate of Ohio State University in 1964, with a major in accounting. He was a CPA for his entire professional career and remained a huge fan of Ohio State football throughout his life- go Buckeyes! Dave was a CPA at Encyclopedia Britannica in Chicago for many years, until he and his wife, Sandy, moved to Galena in 1990. First, they owned Country Gardens Bed and Breakfast, and later The Curiosity Shop. Dave is survived by his daughter, Diane Carter, of Elizabeth, IL, and his son Craig Miller, of Galena, Diane's children Sean Carter, of Galena, Katie (Shawn) Meusel and their children, Eric, Luke, and Sidney, of Scales Mound, IL, and Christopher (Sarah) Carter and their children Payton and Everett, of Galena. Also surviving are his sister, Lynn Cohagan, of Austin, TX; brother-in-law, Steven (JoAnn) Craig of AR; sister-in-law, Pam (Steve) Mitchell, of Columbus, OH; and multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins.
