David was a phenomenal colleague and fierce customer advocate; he was always down to earth, approachable and "real"; not only did SAP lose an irreplaceable expert and thought leader, humanity lost a great person. Rest in Peace Dave!

I met Dave at PricewaterhouseCoopers, and what began as a work relationship quickly grew into a valued friendship. He was incredibly sharp, always professional, and had a sense of humor that made every day better. We shared many great times over dinners, drinks, and laughs at our favorite restaurants and bars. Dave had a way of lifting people up with his presence and perspective. I´ll always cherish the memories we made-he was a true friend, and I´ll miss him deeply.- Nandu

I had the great fortune of meeting Dave during my first month at SAP, nearly nine years ago, on a business trip to Chicago. From the moment we met, I was struck by his presence-his warmth, his leadership, and the way he made people feel truly seen and supported. That first impression never faded; in fact, it only deepened as I got to know him better over the years.

Dave was the consummate leader-steady, wise, and always generous with his time and perspective. But more than that, he became a true friend. Someone I could count on, laugh with, and learn from. His friendship meant the world to me, and I will always be grateful for the time we shared.

Our friendship ended far too soon, but the memory of Dave-his kindness, strength, and spirit-will stay with me for a lifetime.

I was so sorry to hear about Dave's passing. I worked with Dave at SAP. He always did his best for our customers and his co-workers. He always had a smile on his face. I always joked with Dave and I would say, "make sure you don't sit in front of me at a concert" due to how tall he was. He will be missed for sure. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and close friends.

I have many great memories working with Dave over the years. One of my best decisions ever was appointing Dave to his role as the North American service delivery leader - he proved me right every day! He and I always had time to share a laugh, a beverage, a work predicament, or a travel story, including spending 3-4 hours together on a tiny commuter plane on the ramp in San Diego (not an easy fate for a guy like Dave!) and countless other memories. Dave was a fantastic people person, manager, leader, team player and not just great at his job, but fun to be around too. I thoroughly enjoyed being a friend and colleague of his - he will be missed by many, myself included. Very sad to hear this news. A great guy gone too soon. Hope to see you on the other side some day, big guy!

Dave, the news about your passing still hasn't fully sunk in - it's so unreal. I keep thinking back to the good memories of working with you. We shared similar career paths, you in the US and me in EMEA, yet it often felt like we were sitting right beside each other, never really distant, just a phone call away. I will always cherish the moments we shared as colleagues and friends. Your kindness, professionalism, and friendship made a lasting impact. My thoughts are with your loved ones during this difficult time.

Dave, thank you for all of the guidance and wisdom you imparted on me throughout our time working together at SAP. Regrettably, I don't believe I ever had the opportunity to tell you, but you made a big impact on my career, and I learned much from you. I was privileged to have you as my manager and my friend over the last 8 years. You will be dearly missed.

My time here at SAP only began a little over 3yrs ago, but during that time we connected in some of the most difficult situations. You were always generous with your time, genuine in your messaging, and never left me hanging. You're one of the best I've encountered and I hope you and your family recognize the effects of your presence on this world. Thank you for impacting my world.

My deepest sympathy to David's family. I got to know David on many work calls and a few in person meetings. He was a very engaging character with a great sense of humor. He will be fondly remembered by all who worked with him.

Rest in Peace.

As you all have, I have been thinking a lot about Dave this week.

Dave and I started at SAP in early 2013, but we got to know each other and became friends about four years ago.

Like most SAP colleagues, we only met in person a few times but spoke on the phone almost daily. While Dave was always concerned about doing right by our customers, our conversations went beyond that. Even when Dave was diagnosed and undergoing treatments, our discussions continued. Not as often, but just as animated.

Dave and I seldom saw eye-to-eye on politics, one of his favorite topics. I often wondered if it was appropriate to discuss politics with someone who was having a transfusion. As he sat in his chair, on camera, he had the time, and I enjoyed talking to him. Even though we never agreed, we always ended the conversation as good friends.

We agreed about family, work, customers, colleagues, and friends. I learned a lot from Dave. I enjoyed working with him and getting to know him even more.

I have tried to tell people about Dave´s passing, but he knew everybody, not just at SAP. I´ve told some customers whom Dave worked with, and their reaction was the same as that of his colleagues and friends. Dave made an impression on everyone, and that impression will always be with us.

Goodbye, my friend! Rest in peace.

My sincere condolences to all Dave´s family. I had the privilege of working with Dave at SAP . His character loyalty and friendship are things I will always admire and remember. We spoke all the time even though me being based in Australia, Dave always was there . The world is smaller place without him . Rest in peace my friend. Marc H .

Dave and I became friends over the last 10 years because of our connection between Brandon and my 2 sons. My wife and I had the pleasure of meeting Wendy when Dave visited Chicago several years ago. We had a great dinner and enjoyed talking about Wendy´s children. Dave was a great father and was a tremendous influence on Brandon. Brandon has become a great young man and he made a difficult call to let me know that his Dad had passed. I´m comforted to know that Dave is no longer in pain. He will be missed by all of his Elmwood Park friends. The world has lost a great man. I will miss talking baseball, football and basketball and our spirited politics discussions. Dave and I had similar philosophies on raising children and the way we thought the world would should be. RIP my good friend.

Best friend anyone could ask for. God blessed you with love and kindness. I will miss you your laughter after kicking my butt in chess. I will remember all your advice and your kind words. You were a gift from Jesus Christ to have been in my life. I will always remember you and love you.
