David (Dave) W Evans
02/16/1960 – 12/08/2022
Dave was born on February 16, 1960 in Youngstown, OH to David and Shirley Evans. At the age of 9, he moved with his family to Ventura County (Oxnard) California. He graduated from Channel Islands High School in 1979. At an early age he began a career that took him across America. He drove trucks up and down the California highways for Carr Freight in Santa Paula CA for many years. He then decided to travel cross country in an 18 wheeler first for Commercial Companies, eventually becoming an owner operator for himself. This career lasted 32 years and something he missed daily.
He eventually landed in Texas where he met the Love of his life, Pamela (Carrizales) Evans. They married in June 2006 and enjoyed 16 years of marriage. To know Dave was to either love him or hate him. He spoke his mind, sometimes without a filter. He never meant harm it was just his personality. Dave had a kind heart for his extended family in Texas and was loved by all.
Dave is preceded in death by his parents, David and Shirley Evans; his sister, Cathy Evans; and his brother, Timothy Evans.
He is survived by his wife Pamela; his sister Pam (Ivan) Mangan; his brother, Charles Skercevic; nephews, Andrew (Carla) Lerma, Aaron Lerma, Quinn Evans, Jonathan Evans; niece, Hannah Skercevic, all of Oxnard, CA; mother-in-law, Alice Carrizales (Taylor); sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Charlotte and James Herrera (Taylor). Nephews and nieces, Christopher (Nichole) Carrizales (Hutto); Ilyssa and Michael Goldman (Temple); Bryce (Emily) Carrizales (Thrall), Lorenzo and Mollie Sanchez (San Antonio). Great Nephews, Luke and Owen Carrizales, Caden Goldman and Parker Sanchez. His beloved dog Sampson who was Dave’s companion and slept many nights with Dave and his protector especially when Pam had to leave the house.

I am not even sure where to begin, Dave was basically a gentle giant. I first met him when I started working at Shell, he was definitely one of those people you can count on to be there for you. He had a big heart, always had something good to say about everyone, always willing to help people even strangers he never met. Countless number of times he paid for peoples' stuff when they were short on money or just didn't have money at all. I have so many good memories of our time working together. Right now I am regretting I didn't go see him as much I should have.
I AM GOING TO MISS YOU DAVE.

Dave was an awsome man, and neighbor. It was hard not to love Dave and his sense of humor. He loved Pam and spoiling Sampson his sweet dog. He was always so friendly and seemed to take everything in stride with his true “ Dave” sense of humor. One of my husband and my fondest memories is every year we would wait outside for Santa to come around our neighborhood in a fire truck. Pam and Dave were always out there with us cheering for Santa , no matter how cold or yucky the weather was. I know that he is in Heaven wearing one of his “Big Dog” t- shirts watching over Pam and Sampson. Rest easy Dave you will be missed by Jimmy and me.
