I was fortunate to know Dave as his supervisor and his friend. He was a wonderful, warm, caring and creative man who will be incredibly missed by all who had the privilege to know him. There is a huge void here at the E-Quad without Dave's warm spirit and smiling face.
I am grateful to have known Dave and will never forget him.

To Dave's brothers and sisters: I was so touched by your memorial service. You all did a great job. Dave would have been very, very proud.

Dave worked for me while I was at the EQuad. He was a great person and will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Dave:
The great wheel of life turns,
Until we meet again.

Sincerely
Linda

After reading David's poetry, so graciously shared, I promised myself to give all to achieve that which seemingly came so easy to him. The words seemed to flow from his soul to the paper effortlessly - and I was in awe. He advised me not to give up, instead to persevere and to keep writing. I would like to think that, though I was only a very small part of his life, and our correspondence was but brief, he will be keeping watch and monitoring my progress through that intimidating literary jungle. He left an indelible mark on those whose lives he touched, myself included. Although you may feel it at times Anne, you will never at any time be alone, for he will be watching over you always. My condolences to all of the Feehan family, immediate and extended.

It is still very hard to believe that Uncle David is gone. It just goes to show that life is too short. It seems like yesterday that I was his little niece. Enjoy your life while you can, Uncle Dave made the best of his so carry on and do what he would want, make the best of yours. All my love to our family.

Bye Uncle Dave - You will always be in my heart.

For what is it to die but to stand naked in the wind and to melt into the sun?

And what is it to cease breathing, but to free the breath from its restless tides, that it may rise and expand and seek God unencumbered?

Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing.

And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb.

And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance.

The thought of David's passing left many of us empty, with the feeling of wondering-why? The pain may pass with time, but the fond memories will always linger.

David was a truly wonderful person.
I will miss his cheerful hello as I pass the receiving dock at Princeton.

We gain confort in knowing that David is watching over us from a much better place. One day we will be reunited for ever.

I hold many wonderful memories of my Uncle David, affectionately known as "Gig". Now I will hold them more closely to my heart. Know that I loved you dearly, Gig, and will miss you more than I could ever express.

"Did I tell you to love, not with a fair weather love, but with a love that accepts and cherishes unconditionally. Love not with a quick and passing love, but with a love that is a quiet peace within your heart".

May you be at peace now, Gig.

From one of David's friends at Princeton University in a note to niece, Virginia Nelund Meloro:

From: Audrey Ja-Chen Lee
>To: [email protected]
>Subject: Dave Feehan Date: Thu, 3 Jul 2003 12:08:01 -0400 (EDT)

Dear Ms. Nelund,

I'm so very sorry to hear about Dave's passing. I am a graduate student and I worked at the Engineering Quad at Princeton University. Dave and I
ran into each other and chatted quite often. I didn't know who to write to and I found your address in an email he wrote to me about modeling.

Unfortunately, I am in Washington, DC, for the summer and won't be able to make it to his memorial service and tribute, but I felt compelled to express my respect and fondness for Dave. His presence created a jovial and warm atmosphere in the EQuad for everyone and I know that he will be
sincerely missed. He was thoughtful towards others and tried to make our work and research easier by going beyond his own duties. He had a great respect for our scientific and engineering research and acknowledged our
hard work, especially at times when we were not feeling particularly
optimistic and could use his encouragement and support. From our
conversations, I gathered that he had his own trying and difficult
problems, but he gave me the impression that he had the courage and hope to surpass them. His bright outlook was very inspiring to me.

Personally, I regret not being able to say good-bye to Dave and expressing my feelings to him directly, as he was a dear friend to me and I will deeply miss him.

Please share my sentiments with your family if it will offer any condolence to them for their loss.

Sincerely,
Audrey Lee
