David Samuel Fishman

David S. Fishman, of Norton, Massachusetts, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on September 17, 2025, after a long battle with cancer. Son of the late Harry and Ida (Shapiro) Fishman, he was the loving husband of 68 years of Ethel (Rubin) Fishman, cherished father of Melyssa Mello, Stuart Fishman and his wife Lisa, and Jordan Fishman. David was blessed with 6 grandchildren, Max Mello, Mark Fishman and his wife Sandy, Jessica Fishman, Will Mello and his wife Jenn, Jennifer McCarthy and her husband Derek, and Jamie Partridge and her husband Jason. And was great-grandfather to Gianna, Kayleigh, James, Jane, Samira and Mason. He is also survived by his sister Cynthia (Fishman) Nager and her husband Sheldon.

David was born on January 20, 1937, in Boston, MA. He received an associate's degree from Wentworth University and during his early work years, enrolled in Northeastern University's evening program, earning a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He worked for several companies in his 20's, including BOMAC and Sylvania. In the 1960's, David went to work for Alpha Industries, where he stayed for almost 20 years. Around 1980, David and several colleagues started a semiconductor company, Strategic Devices (SDI), and in 1992, David and his son Jordan founded QCB of Hopkinton, MA, a life sciences company. David was a tireless worker whose goals included providing the best life possible for his family. He enjoyed tennis, playing card games, and took up golf later in life. In the 1980's to 1990's, he was very active at Temple Beth Sholom in Framingham, eventually being elected a member of the Board, culminating in his elevation to the congregation's President. After retirement, David and Ethel moved to Cape Cod where he continued to be an active member of the Falmouth Jewish Congregation serving on the Board of Directors. He has left a lasting mark on all the lives he touched throughout the years.

Memorial Services will be held at 10:00AM, Friday September 26, at Temple Beth Sholom, 50 Pamela Road, Framingham, MA. Shiva will be at the home of Melyssa Mello, Friday afternoon, Saturday night and Sunday after 1:00PM.
