David L. Flake

FLAKE, DAVID L. Passed away October 22, 2005 at his home in Menifee. David was born June 16, 1929 in Southgate, California. He moved to Perris Valley at age 11 and has lived in Perris and Menifee continuously except for a couple brief times when he was stationed at Ryan Field in Hemet and in San Diego County. David graduated from Perris High School in 1947 and immediately began his career with the California Department of Forestry. He was Riverside County Fire Chief the last 10 years prior to his retirement in 1984. Dave is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary (Lamb) Flake; mother, Clara L. Flake; Sons, Daniel Lee and David Edward Flake and daughter Marilyn L. McFadden; brothers, Tim Flake and James Jones; sisters, Claire Grill and Junene Briggs; his sister-in-law, Beverly Gardner; his grandchildren, Aaron Flake, Philip Flake, Jon-Paul Flake, and Marisa McFadden; his step granddaughters, Sharon McFadden, Diva Conrad and Tweed Conrad; his great granddaughters, Marisa, Marie and Amber Flake; his son-in-law James McFadden and daughter-in-law Kate Conrad-Flake; his granddaughters-in-law, Jeanie and Jenifer Flake; sisters-in-law Sandy Flake and Lily Jones and brothers-in-law Gary Grill and Ernest Briggs, other relatives including numerous nieces and nephews; friends and his Forestry family. Visitation will be at Miller-Jones Mortuary, 26770 Murrieta Rd., Sun City at 5:00PM - 8:00 PM. Services will be at 11:00 AM at Temple Baptist Church, 745 N. Perris Blvd, Perris, Following the services internment will be at Menifee Valley Memorial Park and then a time of fellowship, memories and a luncheon will be held at Sun City Bible Church, 26815 Murrieta Rd.
