David was born in Vancouver August 29th, 1966, and grew up in the Okanagan Valley. He loved animals, Baseball, Sports, The Vancouver Canucks, the Toronto Blue Jays and fishing. He still holds track and field records from his school days. He will be greatly missed by his family and the many good friends he made over the years including his co-workers at Rimex Supply. Special thanks to Roberta and Rick. Sincere thanks to Michelle, the Paramedics, Dr. Lee and the wonderful nurses at Royal Columbian Hospital and the B.C. Organ Transplant Society. I have many good memories of Dave. He was the first person to befriend me both at work and outside of work after moving from the Island in Feb/96 where I had resided for 17 years after moving from England.

I remember soon after moving into our new house in White Rock our front room quickly became Dave's furniture storage area for his new Condo. Moving him in on that Saturday morning is a whole new story on its own.

On August 5/2000 he accompanied me to Sears where I needed to buy a new shirt for my Son's upcoming wedding. He told me when I had finished to meet him by the front door as he had to pick something up. 15 minutes later he arrived with a top of the line golf cart under his arm. I asked him, what are you doing? He replied, Happy Birthday Bob. After shaking hands I said "do you think that will help me play better? He said "I don't know but you will sure look good"

In the short time I knew Dave we sure had a lot of laughs. I'm going to miss you mate! When I was going through the toughest time of my life my friend was always there. For that alone I will never forget you mate.

God Bless. Your were a very good friend,
Bob.

To Hank & Eileen, Words can never reflect the deep feelings we go through with the loss of a loved one. There are so many memories I have of Dave I couldn't possibly share them all in this forum. Dave helped Bob and I settle when we moved from the Island. He buffered so many situations that could have been ugly with his laughter and charm. Any bad situation was very hard to take route when Dave was near because he got everyone laughing. When you became Dave's friend, you were his friend for life. If you hadn't talked to Dave in a year, when you did it was like you had just talked to him the day before. I can only say to you Hank & Eileen that you raised a wonderful son. He wasn't perfect but he was a good son, a good friend, and most of all he was a good human being who touched the lives of so many people. He will be remembered with love & laughter for all who were lucky enough to have crossed paths with him in this life! I know I will remember him for the rest of my days with love and laughter. Good-bye Friend. Dixie

I'm at a lose for words with respect to the passing of a very dear friend Dave Hackett. I pass my condolences on to Daves family. I will always be indebted to Dave for the great amount of knowledge that he shared with me and in his quest in helping me find the job that I now have... Rest in peace my friend my thoughts are with you.
