My condolence to David's family (I just learned of his passing from a friend). I enjoyed reading his obit; his humor lives on. I went to school with David in Lexington, KY staring with elementary, and lived in the neighborhood. My family knew his family, and I got to know his mother and sister better thru Girl Scouts. David was always nice to me and he would give little things (I was a somewhat sickly child, and thus a bit shy). He was always gentle with animals, and he definitely had a different outlook with a sense of humor. I'm happy to know he was happy, and a friend to many. He will be missed!

I was saddened to learn of his passing. I'm glad I got to know Dave a bit through the Saturday car drives. I'm not an honest car enthusiast, but I was always impressed at his vast knowledge of the automobile (mechanics and history). It was so obviously a love of his. His sense of humor was always on point and just a fun guy to hang out with. Godspeed, Dave. Much love to Menda and the family -

I had the great pleasure, some years back, to meet Menda, and to see my old friend and conspirator in crime, Dave. It was at a 4th of July party in Lexington. It was a memory I´ve run in my mind quite a bit, lately. It was so good to see Dave, and pleasure to meet Menda. Memories of Dave and my youth have comforted me in some of life´s rougher spots. I´m a retired teacher, having mentioned many times Dave´s legendary "TR-3" to many classes. Dave will always live large in my memories and you, Menda, in my prayers.

Menda, I had the great pleasure of meeting you in Lexington, at a 4th of July party, and the pleasure of seeing my long time friend Dave. It was truly a memory I played often lately. It was one of the high points of my visit to Lexington. I was one of Dave´s high school friends. Dave was part of my most memorable fun times of those years, I have often visited those memories, along life´s way. It has comforted me in life´s toughest spots. I hope my words about Dave can provide you with some modicum of comfort as well. He had a core of friends from Lexington, that his memory will always provide comfort... and Love, too. He will always live large in my heart.

I had the good fortune to be Dave's friend for over 50 years.
From our early years together in school in Lexington, KY to our time together in airframe & powerplant school in Somerset, KY to our time working in Gulf coast helicopter operations I cherished it all.
We spent many hours working on Dave's first Triumph TR-3, taking two junk cars and combining them into one driveable car. It wasn't much to look at but it was road worthy and dependable, at least as dependable as any car with Lucas electrics can be! Thus began Dave's lifelong love of British motor cars.
Menda, Cara, and Rachel, I know the grief must be crushing but please hold your heads up high, we will see Dave again.
David, I love you brother. Your departure has left a hole in my heart no one can fill. Rest easy my friend.

David and I got acquainted while working at Air Logistics. Years later, after Dave left Air Log and I was getting close to retiring , I met Dave by chance while we were gassing up at a station on highway 90 we talked work . Dave mentioned I might enjoy working at Arrow Aviation after I retired. I remembered that talk and two years later I was officially asked to join the Arrow team. Over the next eleven plus years I enjoyed working with Dave . He was knowledgeable ,to no end ,about so many subjects and a super voice with little volume control.
Dave was great Pearson and friend . I will not for get the nickname he gave me ... Dandy Don ... so nice to have known you Dave.....

David, I´m so happy we spoke before your passing, we spent so much time together at work and building your log cabin. I never drove nails that long in my life! We shared many good times and laughs. I recall working for hours building your roof one weekend and we joked about us getting sunburned and who would burn quicker. David, never saw people by color or race, he saw good or bad. I´m grateful he saw the good in me which allowed us to form a friendship and share many influenceable times together. We shared many good times, some we won´t discuss but always lead to a good laugh.

When you´re friends with David, you have a friend for life!

David, I love you brother, you will be missed but never forgotten, until we meet again in heaven wear your safety glasses and keep those helicopters flying.

I'll never forget when we came down there to visit Dave and Menda and Dave took my son out to the hanger and showed him all the cars. To this day Christopher still remembers that. And the ride in the car with Menda.

I´ll always remember the car races in the front yard, the firework displays for the holidays and vast array of animals that greeted you upon your arrival. Mr. Dave was one of a kind and will be greatly missed. Thank you for being a great neighbor and friend to our family.
