David "D.C." Hinton

David “D.C.” Hinton, 77, of Laurel, died Monday, July 7, 2008, at South Central Regional Medical Center in Laurel.Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, at Pine Ridge Missionary Baptist Church in Laurel. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Bro. Howard Rogers, Bro. Kent Grice and Bro. Bob Burch will officiate.Mr. Hinton was retired in 1999 as superintendent from Calhoun Water Association. He served 13 utilities rural water associations. He was owner of Hinton Trenching for 35 years and Buck Stoves of Laurel. He was a charter member of Pine Ridge Missionary Baptist Church, where he spent 48 years in ministry of service at Pine Ridge Missionary Baptist Church as a deacon. His love for people and being a Godly witness was a passion of his. He always had room in his home and heart for people of need. His desire was to serve others.He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Samuel and Ola Louise Cobb Hinton; a brother, Jimmy L. Hinton; and two sisters, Dorothy Louise Cormier and Emma Jean Yarbrough.Survivors include his wife, Bettie Sue Breedlove Hinton of Laurel; son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Patricia Hinton of Laurel; three daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Kenny Youngblood of Laurel, Tammy and Jimmy Ray Sims of Stringer, and Dedra and Scott Shelton of Laurel; brother and sister-in-law, Charles D. and Bettye Jean Hinton of Laurel; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.Pallbearers will be Wilbur Baughman, Ray Holifield, Greg Hinton, Matt Wiginton, Doyle Wheat, and Chris Ainsworth. Honorary pallbearers will be Kimble Mauldin, Kenny Goodwin and Dwight Sumrall.Visitation will be from 5 until 9 p.m. this evening at Pine Ridge Missionary Baptist Church in Laurel.Memory Chapel Funeral Home in Laurel is in charge of the arrangements.
